I'm so tired of doing dishes!

I live in a 100 year old house in the Northwest. It's a cute little place. It's cozy, warm and it's a nice temporary place for a year or so. Unfortunately, there is no dishwasher. I'm from San Diego, CA. I've learned to conserve on a great many things. Needless to say, I don't like disposable utensils for daily use. Oh, well! The dishes still need to be done!

Great! Then both you and @hereandthere can do the dishes and I'll do all the cooking and baking! :-)

@FrancoisBezuidenhout I haven't made Black Forest Cake, but I've made chocolate cake that is very similar. My cakes had been called such but until I looked it up it didn't know what a Black Forest was. :-) As for the cheesecake I haven't made one, but there is no reason I can't learn to.

i'd rather wash the dishes and do the laundry and clean the bathroom than iron clothes, cook and dust.

I wash the dished 3 time a day after meal, it's kinda normal to me because even when I was young this is my daily chores at home.

Oh yes. Me too. I grew up in a military family. The household was run like a ship. Children were slave labor and they were to be seen and not heard. I'm just not responsible with my time sometimes, especially when I find new sites like myLot! Life is just filled with so much great stuff to do and learn! BUT! I am being mindful and watching my time today. I have far too much to do. Unfortunately, dishes falls into the category of "it can wait". Obviously, I still do them but my days go by soooo quickly that I often like I'm doing them all the time. Hahaha!

@KindredSoul It is nice to see our kids helping around at home and doing something special for us. And when they are grown up, we wish they are young and miss them a lot.

@mlgen1037 Oh yes. I'm asked what was my favorite age. They are all my favorite ages. I had a good kid. He made being a mom easy and fun. I knew I wasn't going to look forward to him leaving, but knew it was going to happen, I cherished every moment we had. Good times!

While my son was living at home he would do the kitchen clean up unless he made dinner. Then his stepbrother would clean up. He didn't make dinner often but it was always so pleasant when he would. But he is all grown up now. (Sigh)

You know what? We have a dishwasher and I still prefer washing dishes by hand. I wash all my pots and pans that way. I don't really care for our dishwasher, I don't like the smell on the dishes once they run through a cycle. Kind of a dirty water smell (??) I don't know about our dishwasher, I just do my own dishes, pots, and pans by hand. (And I use plastic silverware that I hoard in my room.) Tip: If you wash the dishes immediately after use, they won't pile up and then it won't seem like such a nagging job. I'll cook something and then I wash everything right after. Then I have food for 3 days, and everything has been washed. And I'm all done.

Yeah, when I cook it is with the week in mind. In that case, I use quite a bit of cookware and kitchen utensils. I just try to do too much at once. I will make 3 or 4 different meals and as soon as they cool I prep them to be frozen. And in the midst of all of that, I'm still working monitoring and researching.

Thank you. Well, I started off as a Virtual Assistant/Consultant. But my one path seems to have transformed into multiple paths. I've been called a Virtual Vixen or a Social Media Maiden. Both fit, I guess.

I think washing the dishes is not a good kind of household chores (I've never talked to anyone that would like it), but we have to do.
