Missing

A man calls the cops and he says
"My wife has been missing for days".
The cop said, describe her
then we'll try to find her,
"Oh, ok - her name is Therese."
Now her eyes - what colour are they?
"Not sure if they're blue or are grey."
What colour's her hair?
"I think she is fair,
though for sure I really can't say."
Well, what were the clothes that she wore
when she made her way out the door?
"Um - blouse and a skirt
or trousers and shirt,
I'm sorry I can't tell you more."
"She went in my car, which is red,
(why couldn't she walk out instead?)
the wheel trims are silver,
the seats are black leather
when I think of it's fate I feel dread.
It's got a small scratch on the side
(when that happened I nearly cried),
the steering wheel's cream,
it runs like a dream
it's a Ford and fills me with pride."
Now sir, I can see you're upset,
your cheeks are becoming quite wet,
we'll search near and far,
and we'll find your car,
perhaps your wife too, so don't fret.
Do you know a fellow like this?

Where do you get these ideas from? Do I need to say more?

@JaboUK - Ha ha! Another delightful poem! You really do need to publish a collection of these. Yes, I think I know a number of men like that ... especially here in Southern California where many men seem to be in love with their cars! LOL

Thanks Deborah, but I decided it wasn't worth the hassle of getting them published. The market would be so limited, but I do appreciate that you tried to help me with it.
Yes, I've obviously exaggerated in the poem, but I do believe that some men do feel like this.

@jaboUK - I loved the poem. I hope that, at the very least, you will put together a homemade volume of your poetry for your children and grandchildren. If you ever change your mind, CreateSpace is completely free and they print on demand. This means they only print a book when someone orders a book.

This lady makes the best poems. You should do a book of poems. I could be your agent.

@jaboUK True, but why not? I guess I do not have to be a well paid agent. Kind of fits perfectly with my life.

I have never been that enamored of any car I have owned, can't compare to the woman in my life.

The only fictional character that I know of that fits that description is the Invisible Girl of the Fantastic Four.

@jaboUK That is what Susan Richards was called in the Hanna Barbera cartoon era of the show in the late 1960s.

Not really, but I know one who thinks their house is more important than their spouse.
