It is very rare that I make promises. I am a man of integrity, and my word is as good as gold. The people who know me know that I do not have to make a promise to them in order to keep my word. If I tell them I will do something, then they know they can trust me and hold me to my word.

@Courtlynn They are often used interchangeably, but I always looked at it a little differently. If someone has to ask me "do you promise?" then to me that means they don't trust my word. I simply tell people, "I give you my word. That's better than a promise."

I've always thought of promises, and my word as the same. As I always keep promises, and always keep my word.

I dont make promises for that very reason. I don't even make New Years Resolutions because it helps me to be true to myself. :-)

For most of the time no. Either I forgot about it or I just did it on purpose.
