It's driving me nuts! It's almost 5am and I havent gotten a wink of sleep! I have been dealing with restless leg syndrome for the past few yrs. It doesn't act up every night but when it does its difficult to get any sleep. I spend alot of time walking around the apartment, trying to get rid of the restlessness in my feet and legs. Anyone else here have this? What do you do to control it? ~help~

Yes, I have suffered from this for a number of years. It goes away for awhile then can be every night. All I do is walk around, run in place and knee bends until fatigue eases the ache.

Well, yes. I can't sit still when forced to wait or sitting a long time. It is quite possible that the legs do this when you sleep as a way to stimulate the blood flow or is a manifestation of a disconnection between the conscious and the unconscious and the autonomic nervous system becoming a bit out of control. Just a guess. I found a nice article about this from Mayo Clinic online.

@lookatdesktop (15621) Thank you for the informative post! When it overcomes me it feels as if my spirit wants to "step out" of my body. :-D
I have to walk around for a few minutes to realign my spirit and body. :-)

Restless leg syndrome? I haven't heard of it...I do sometimes have issues with the circulation in my legs, because I'm on my feet for long periods of time at work, and I have to elevate them at night...is that similar?
