My Shadow has been guarding me every day. Whenever I go to certain spots, he always comes along with me. Literally, he is like my shadow. Either, he will sit beside me or sit on my lap. I felt like being guarded all the time. Well, I don’t think it is bad. It showed how loyal my pet is. In fact, I never had a pet who is so clingy and sweet.

@ridingbet In the family, it is my mom and I love having dogs in the house. My late father's dog "Putot" is the only left dog. I sometimes hear my mom talked to her every day.

Even if the other half and I are play fighting tickling each other whatever Harley has to be in the center of it to make sure I don't get hurt

@neha211985 It seems he really needs attention that time. Shadow tends to be if he wants attention too.

@epiffanie I agree. It seems that our pets are much trustworthy than humans nowadays. We tend to be cautious when meeting new people in our lives.

@Shavkat exactly!.. he used to walk beside me and kept looking around ... he’s on red alert the minute I stepped out of the house.. lol.. too overprotective.. Pets are really more loyal than us humans aren’t they?..

My cat Athena is very protective. She follows me everywhere and sometimes I have to watch my step. She'll get underfoot very quickly. She sleeps beside me in bed and she lays on the arm of the sofa when I'm napping on it. She loves to jump up on my lap when I'm busy doing other things. She is my baby and I am hers. :-)

I think it can work for cats if they are a bit over protective. Dogs not so much. My old German Shepherd might have been a bit to protective of us and his home, so always had to keep a close eye because he could turn really aggressive on a dime if he saw or felt something he did not like.

What an adorable cat. My Sid is very independent but if he doesn't see me for awhile he will take a look where I am. Before I go to bed he makes sure we are in the room together and so on. After all I am all he has.

I have a little black cat, too, and she likes to be around me all the time, too. Right now she is lying in front of the heater in my office :)
