I'm sure most of us have heard the quote from Yoda in Star Wars, "Do or do not. There is no try."
What do you think of that philosophy? Is it a good way to look at life? What about the person who has attempted something but not been successful? Is it fair to put him/her in the same box ("Did not") as the person who has not even made an effort?
Could this philosophy cause someone not to attempt things unless he/she is absolutely certain of success?

i like how Yoda speaks. the predicate is always in front of the subject. an example would be:
"careful, you should be."

Yoda was the Best!
It has only recently been brought to my attention that Yoda’s famous quote has been misinterpreted or at the very least, misunderstood. A quick Google search shows some interesting interpretations of Yoda’s famous quote: “If you don’t try, then how can you

@lynnief It basically says that "try" is associated with fear or a fear of failure or self doubt. He was saying that Luke must put ALL of his faith in the Force. Eliminating the concept of "try" leaves no room for failure or self doubt and you are more likely to succeed.

Do,or do not. There is no try.Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose. I think to lose is a very common result.
So,it is indeed a good way to look at life. This philosophy does not demands that we have to succeed.Just do or do not,no matter what the result is ! Of course,it is not fair to put the guy who has attempted something but not been successful in the “did not” box, because she or he really did it.
Any mistake in English ,please help me to point out and correct, thank you !
