Are you getting the sleep that you need? How does one know if they are getting enough sleep? What are your thoughts on the topic of getting enough sleep?

Sounds good! You are following the rule of early to bed and early to rise. Do you do this every day?

@1hopefulman Every day - unless something upsets my schedule. I rise early on weekends too - I refuse to lie in bed after 6a.m.

Doctors say that we need at least 7 hours of sleep, the quality of the sleep is important. I do not sleep well and I sleep less than 7 hours.

@1hopefulman I get up from 5:30 to 6 am, it depends how busy I am. I need a better sleep, not more hours.

I always feel the need to have more sleep coz even though it ry to sleep for 6-8 hours, it just doesn't happen continuously. I always wake up in the middle of the night. I toss and turn in my sleep.

Since I get up often to use the bathroom, I still feel that I sleep well. While I try to go to bed around 11 PM, I wake up at different times between 7 and 11 AM.

I wake up when my body tells me to. They say that getting more than 8 hours per night is not healthy. I get 7 - 8 and feel fine and peppy.

I think that one should only get up when they feel like it but they should go to bed at a reasonable time at night and not later than 11 PM. What do you think of that?

@1hopefulman I go to bed between 10 and 11, but shut my eyes and go to sleep at 12:00. For me, it's my quiet time. I'm usually awake between 7 to 8. It works for me.

I probably don't get enough. My sleep is very broken during the night. I go to bed around 10 and am usually up by 6. I guess this would be enough if I actually slept.

@1hopefulman It seems people don't sleep as well as they get older so maybe that has something to do with it. Sometimes my mind just goes over and over stupid things I've done. When that starts happening I start counting to 100 in French then do it backwards. Somewhere in the middle I often go to sleep so that's good.

These days there's a lot breaking my rest!!! Restless leg syndrome and my head keeps itching!! I have to go see about that, but once I'm asleep I fall into deep and good sleep!! A normal person active physically/mentally should sleep 8hours a day. A gentle person rarely active physically/mentally should sleep 6 hours a day. After eating lunch/dinner don't get into sleep instantly. Watch TV or do some back and forth steps. Let the stomach settle with your food, then go to sleep.
