It Hurts to be Beautiful

No photo of me!
I just returned from a beauty treatment. Yes, I'm vain and I know it, but I like to look my best.
After making an appointment for Fractora, a radio wave treatment in November which resurfaces the skin, I had my first treatment today. My doctor thought it would be a superior solution to decrease wrinkles, improve my complexion, reduce skin irregularities, and provide a healthier, younger looking me.
After years in the sun, I was doomed. My husband thinks I'm crazy and ran away from me when he saw my red, swollen, greased up face. I should look better in two days.
It didn't tickle, but would I do it again? Definitely! My next appointment is May 9th.
Btw, I love love love my doctor!

@DianneN That's what I hope also but I'm sure you wouldn't do a procedure unless you were pretty sure of the good results.

I've only gotten facials (sometimes that does hurt!). But mainly I do face stuff at home. I love steaming my face. I like apple cider vinegar / water and cotton balling it all over my face and rinsing it off after about 10 minutes (I also do it with yogurt or dry milk with a little water). I love aloe and trying out different kinds of natural oils. I've gotten a lot of sun in my time too . . . I never had that white porcelain skin that many young Japanese gals have (only when I was less than 2 years old!). I'm sure your husband is running to you again !

@DianneN I remember that tool that supposedly takes out blackheads and such - that kinda hurt, but or maybe it was the technician's technique . I had my days of dark tanning in my teens . . . surely I could be paying for that now - but at least I tan easily (though not as well as in my youth) that it does protect me from sunburning (that being said, I do have a little bit of sunburn on my upper cheeks). You and your hubby are just too cute !

@epiffanie I'm sure you look as beautiful in person as you must in photos. Many women, surprisingly, can't be bothered with their looks. Poor them!

This reminds me of the lady who exercised in the pool with me today. She'd do some aerobics then head to the pool side to grab her towel to wipe off mascara. The instructor said she needed to buy water proof make up. Guess she can't stand one measly hour without make up.

I am afraid to do these types of treatments, I got a little skin cancer on my face years ago and so I don't go out in the sun much unless I wear tons of sunscreen. My skin is still pretty good for turning 60 in a couple of months so I don't really worry about it much. Good luck with your treatments, I hope it looks great when its all over.

@DianneN Heheheh, yes of course he is always glued to you! But maybe not for that one sec of seeing you red. Now he's used to it & doesn't mind it.
Glad the stunning went away. :)

How I wish I have lots of money too like you, so I could have facial treatments that can decrease my wrinkles around the eye area as well as remove my eyebag.
It's not vanity but it's for us to feel good while growing old. You have the money, so why not?

Oh girl, I don't think I could handle that. Bartenders still ask me for my ID and it ticks me off cause I know they're lying @DianneN .
