Does anyone cook with couscous or have any good recipes to share? Looking for something meat free and healthy. I tried my hand at making a couscous salad, loosely following a recipe online including: -Raisins -Toasted Almonds -Lemon Zest -Green Onions -Lemon juice and curry spice It sounds strange but I am really liking the combination of the curry and the lemon. Who would have thunk! Have you ever made couscous? Please share!

Have never made it and not sure how easy it would be to make. The one you have mentioned here sounds interesting.

Its extremely easy. You basically boil water, throw the couscous in and let it sit!

I've never tried couscous. It never appealed to me but after seeing your picture it does look good. Maybe I'll have to give it a try

I love it and add garlic. Unfortunately, my hubs doesn't like couscous.

No, i haven't but would like to try it someday. It's not a common staple here so it's kinda hard to find it at stores.

Seems like same here. It is hard to find and a bit too expensive to buy on a regular basis.

My grandma used to make tabouli with it. I would put salsa in it, and just eat it like that.

I make something called tabule. Check it online. It has cucumber and fresh mint among other things.

Is this a tabouleh or a couscous ? What we call couscous here is a hot dish while a tabouleh is a cold dish. With onions and lemon, I think it is a tabouleh. A good tabouleh for summer days is a mint tabouleh : couscous semolina, olive oil, pepper, lemon juice, small pieces of tomatoes, minced parsley, and a lot of minced fresh mint leaves. Raisins and a bit of mustard optional. It is served very cold.

I made it once, but my husband didn't like the texture of it. I'd eat it again.

It does have an interesting texture. Not nearly as weird as quinoa though in my opinion!

Yes, I have made it. I am not fond of the recipe I tried. I am not really into curry, every now and then I will make curry chicken, maybe once a year, or two.

I have never eaten it. For me it just always comes down to I don't think I would like the texture. But who knows? One day I might just give some a go.
