Dear friends, All of you aware that cucumber is a wonderful summer treat which contains lot of water. Now the cucumber is available in our place in a very low price. I think this will help everyone to have this veggie as much as they want. Adding one cup of yogurt along with one cucumber, pinch of salt will make a delicious drink for summer. I love to the taste of it. If you add mint leaves then it will add the taste. Do you make cucumber juice? Image from google

I only drink cucumber plus soda, lime and lemon before but never pure cucumber on its own.

Well I take cucumbers in summers a lot and my wife likes them even more. However we rarely make a juice like this.

There is nothing hard to make this. Just peel it off, make slices put in a mixi jar add one cup of curd, pinch of salt and mint leaves (only 2 leaf) and make it juice, It is worth to try as ingredients are easily available in kitchen.

That sounds delicious but I suffer with lactose intolerance, so I can't have it I think. I will try though.

Curd is also make problem? I had an impression that only milk is the villain. Make one glass adding reducing the amount of curd.

@vandana7 In Sambar we add tamarind may be it won't suit you. Fortunately you can have Mangoes and pickles.

@Sreekala Milk is definitely a problem, but many times, coffee with little milk does not cause problem. I don't know why. But if I drink milk without anything or even tea with milk, I am in soup. I definitely have problems with lime and curds. 100 percent guaranteed. Then again eno with lime does not cause problem. I think some ingredient other than citric acid is the culprit. Likewise, it may not be directly lactic acid. Vitamin C tablets however cause problem as does tamarind. Sambhar is a problem. But funnily not mango pickle.

@Sreekala Yes I know cucumber has juice in it. I fell down stairs because someone squirted the juice on the steps and got them sticky and wet. I like cucumber to eat but not to drink.

@Sreekala Thanks. Now I see what you are saying. I was hurt. My foot hurt so bad and my landlord brought his wife that day and after I explained what happened my cat came in and she did not want her to climb up on her because she did not want her pants ruined because of my ca's claws and wanted me to pick her up but my cat left the room on her own. Thank you for your concern. That was nice of you.

Adding curd will enhance the taste, especially for children, they won't like it if it made alone as juice.

Yes..though I don't like the taste of mint leaves. I mix some curry leaves along with the mixture of cucumber juice, black pepper powder, black salt and plain curd and then put it on the grinder. I like it in this way.

@LadyDuck Yes, if you have dark spots under the eyes area, keeping cucumber slices in that place helps. But applying juice is also effective.

I am more of a buttermilk person during the hot season embellished with peppermint leaves, a tinge of salt. I have not taken cucumber juice but watermelon juice or coconut water are to my liking - siva
