When Was The Last Time You Went Out For Breakfast?

It's been so long since I've gone out for breakfast that I can't even remember when it was. My idea of going out for breakfast might be driving to Dunkin Donuts and getting a coffee and donut but actually sitting in a place and having breakfast is just a distant memory.
Today was the exception.
My granddaughter belongs to the Italian Club in high school and they were having a fund raiser at Applebees this morning from 8am to 10am. They are trying to raise money for their trip to Italy in July.
So, I went with my two daughters and we enjoyed a nice breakfast of pancakes, bacon or sausage, orange juice and coffee. The nicest part was having my granddaughter wait on our table. We left her a nice tip, went to Hobby Lobby and then came home.
My day seems completely upside down now since it's rare I go out so early and now I'm home and it's almost time for lunch.
I really enjoyed going out for breakfast and think maybe it's something I should do more often.

@JohnRoberts Then you need to ..... just do it! Go to waffle house and have a waffle or 2 eggs, bacon and hash browns.

Going out for breakfast is something I enjoy doing, it has been a while since it did it though. I think the last time was almost a year ago now. I will have to make it happen soon. Glad you enjoyed and hope they raised lots of money.

@Marilynda1225 I am right back from Italy. We were there all the morning, I still have to arrange a few things in the apartment of my mom.

@LadyDuck believe it or not I'm still sorting through things from my mom too. It seems like a never ending process but I know one of these days it will be done. It isn't easy is it?

We hardly have breakfast to begin with, nevermind going out for it.. but on the Mondays my brother has his appointment and my mom is off to take him, we sometimes go to ihop or dunkin. Though, a lot of the times we go to dunkin, we take our donuts to go.
That is great you could go out for breakfast this morning though, and not only that but help your granddaughter too!

That sounds wonderful! I actually went out Thursday morning with my dad and his wife to meet my sister and her husband in downtown Oklahoma City to a place called The Hatch. They were visiting on vacation, and we were glad to see them. It was way overpriced (my dad later called it "yuppie" food), but my sister and her husband wanted to pay for it.

I miss eating breakfast out but we haven't eaten out anywhere in probably 3 wks now. Its kind of nice to cook all our meals at home so I know whats in them, but I wouldn't mind going out once in a while. Maybe we will do it next weekend. So nice that they could do a fund raiser that way, I hope they earn enough money for their trip.

I haven't gone for a while either. There are no really good breakfast places here. You have to drive to find something decent. They do have Sunday brunch at some of the places on the lake..but they want an arm and a leg for it..I have on occassion goine to Hardees or McDonalds for breakfast..but they aren't too exciting. A local restaurant has breakfast,,but I could make better at home for cheaper.

@Marilynda1225 I love going out for breakfast when there is a good place to go. There used to be a coffeehouse here that had great waffles, but sadly, they went out of business.

The only time I go out for breakfast is when the church ladies group has their brunch. It's always at someone's home, and you bring something. It's always a good time.
I'm sure you enjoyed your breakfast today and it was for a great cause.

I dream of joining something like that, Valerie. I'm currently tied to the home for now because I've got young kids to tend to. But I would love a breakfast picnic of sorts one of these days even if I had to bring my children with me.

That's wonderful, Marilyn. I love going out for breakfast with the family or with my friends as well. Although we haven't done that in a long time. (I can't even remember the last time, gee.) But during long breaks, we make it a point to drive to a cold hilly countryside and have breakfast there. Now that you wrote about it, I think I'll have to plan our breakfast trip soon.

It has been quite a while although I do enjoy breakfast at the diner. I think costs have gone up so much over the years. It is just less expensive to eat at home. No waiting and my eggs come out just the way I like them
