More than one TV in the house?

When I was younger we only had one TV in the house so there were always arguments about which channel to watch. My favourite programme was one called "Lost in Space" which was shown on a Sunday afternoon but sometimes my dad would want to watch something on another channel and I would cry! (If only my problems were so small now!) These days people tend to have more than one TV in the house. We have three, one downstairs and one in each of the bedrooms so there is never any dispute about what to watch. How many television sets do you have in your house?

@marlina Do you have to pay a licence fee in Canada? We do over here but only one per household not one per set.

@marlina We have to pay a yearly fee to be able to watch programmes on TV. Here's some info for you which explains it better than I can.
Did you know that you could be entitled to a reduced fee TV Licence? Learn more about the different types and costs here.

Only one set. That too does not get watched as often. Dad keeps it on alright..but he focuses more on his laptop, and I am hardly in that room. LOL.

@sprite1950 Aw...that is horrid. But I wish we had it. If we had it, some of the programs dad puts would be shut down. Evil Grin.

I know people who don't have a TV at all. We have to pay a licence fee over here to own one.

I just have one TV set at home and that's fine. As I don't spend long time on TV today. Usually I just watch the news for a while and that's all.

The bedroom TVs are watched the most as I don't watch daytime TV and tend to like watching at night when I am in bed. My granddaughter is the same.

We watch very little TV and just have one set. There were a few squabbles when the boys were younger and living at home.

When I was young, there was only one TV set in the house and it was in my parents' room. And they control what we watch and we could only watch on tv on non-school days. My parents were very strict about that. But now it's different. WE have tv in the living room and tv in each room.

Yes I like my bedroom tv the most as I enjoy watching tv just before I fall asleep. It turns itself off too so it has a power saving option,

we grew up with one set. it was black and white and you got up to twist the knob to switch channels. it was always in the sala (living room). as years passed and models changed, the most we had was just two, the other being in our parent's bedroom.

I remember our old black and white tv set! It looked a bit like the one in the picture only much heavier. When we got our first colour set I thought it was amazing!

@Shivram59 I like old black and white movies. The acting is usually terrible but there's something about them. Maybe it's because they were around in my parents time and it makes me think of them as they are both gone now.

I have one TV and my sister has her TV, so technically there are 2 in the house, but only 1 is mine. Growing up we had only 1 as well, but once I was grown my mom did get one for the bedroom so she could watch whatever she wanted to since my dad always watched his shows. I am not comfortable watching TV in bed since I really don't have anything to lean against while sitting on the bed. I don't really watch a whole lot of TV anyway.

We have 2 TV's at home - one in the living and one in the bedroom. I just got married and the people who attended our wedding advised us not to have a tv in the bedroom. But we love watching our series and movies together, so we still got.

@sprite1950 yeah they did, hahaha! Their point being we'd have better communication if we don't have anything else occupying our time in the bedroom. People like to use their mobile phones and pc's while on break, so it seems like a bad idea to add another distraction...

I own 3 only one of which I watch now though. The bedroom TV is not hooked up to the satellite and the box we had in there never worked that well. I prefer streaming on the tablet if I am going to watch something in the bedroom.
