A Cold Rainy Saturday in New England

Yes I did get up at 6 a.m. so that I could watch all the royals arriving at St George's Chapel. It is beautiful and I have been there several times so that I could stomp on the grave of Henry VIII for what he did to Anne Boleyn, but I digress lol.
I watched the entire ceremony and the progression through Windsor Park and then at 9:30 hubs and I went back to sleep until 11:30 a.m.
It is cold and rainy today in Connecticut and my daughter asked me if she could leave Jack with me today. Her husband's father is going to be taken off the respirator today and Jack did not want to be there with the rest of the family. He went last week to say goodbye to his grandfather. It is a sad afternoon for us as we wait for the news we are dreading.
We are all quite broken-hearted about this development. You know how these things always come in threes, this will be three for me in the last month or so and I hope that is the end of it for this year.
Last night I put a ham and bean soup in the crockpot so I don't have to worry about cooking today. I am very heavy hearted right now but as we all know, life is for the living and it does go on no matter what happens in the world. Jack said to me the other day "who will cut my hair" his grandfather was a barber and no one else has ever cut his hair, all of his brothers and his father can say the same thing. Funny what went through his young mind.

I'm so terribly sorry. We went through that two years ago with my husband's last brother.
It's nasty here, but I'm well prepared and can't wait to use my new umbrella. Beneath it, it matches the lining of my raincoat. We're going out to dinner with our dear friends.

Enjoy your dinner, I am hunkered down with Jack and hubs and we are not braving the weather. Thank you for your kind words. I do remember that.

@BelleStarr I could still remember the time my family and I decided to sign a DNR to my late father 4 years ago. It was a heartbreaking moment for us.

Kasey brought 3 of the older boys home from the hospital when they couldn't take anymore and he passed about 5 minutes after she got back to the hospital. Heavy hearts all around, but children especially are quite resilient.

@BelleStarr I think deaths for the young(er) can be very difficult. Also for older people of course but I do think you do get more used to it when you've seen a lot of people pass away.

I cut one of the grandson's hair the other night, I am okay with curly hair which is much more forgiving!! There is a new female barber in the town where they live, I think maybe going to a woman might be easier.

@BelleStarr Was the haircut OK? He has curly hair does he? I tried cutting curly hair before, not too good in my case.

I really enjoyed the wedding and now I saw her second dress which was really lovely too. All in all, it was one of my favorite royal weddings.
