Yesterday we spent an enjoyable morning with myLotter, Lynn Fowler (lynnief) who lives in the Gippsland area east of Melbourne. Lynn has a small publishing house and has also done a lot of missionary work in various countries including Nepal where Vince will be going in October. As you can imagine, we had a lot to discuss.
We met for coffee at a café called the Gippy Goat which farms some 5,000 dairy goats. The countryside is very pretty with rolling green hills and fat livestock. Lynn was kind enough to give me a copy of her book ‘Next Year in Huntsville’ which I know I’ll enjoy reading. Lynn has written a number of hymns and I’ve been transcribing some (the easier ones!) to music.

@hereandthere That's true and it will no doubt get much colder before we get home again.

Did you meet here on mylot then decide to meet up in person? That is so awesome you were given a copy of her book. The cafe with the goats sounds neat. I know you love eating goats so this place must have been really cool for you! Seeing that she does missionary work I bet you guys hit it off really well with lots to talk about in person

We met on myLot as I always take notice if someone from Australia joins. I don't mind eating goat meat but I love them alive too. I had a pet goat as a child and she was a great companion. Lynn had been to Nepal too so she and Vince were able to share experiences about the place.

@epiffanie I thought Greg was very sociable and hospitable. Vince talks a lot but I'm mostly pleased as sometimes I can get a bit tongue-tied.

@Bullshark We are probably going back to Ireland next year. One son lives there and I had the Netherlands on my wish list but I think it might be a bit too difficult to organise. If we buy another motor-home (camping car) maybe we'll be able to go there. Money isn't unlimited but if we have our bed and can cook for ourselves, more options become available.
Can I ask your nationality? You don't have to tell me but it seems like you're a native English speaker.

@JudyEv One of my neighbors happens to be an Aussie. Maybe I should ask her if she's interested in joining myLot. And who knows, maybe one day we could meet up here in the Netherlands... :)

It was such a shame wasn't it? But a city can be a very big place, particularly when there is limited time and neither party knows the area well. And who knows? Maybe we'll get to NZ one day or perhaps you'll come west on the Indian Pacific.
