Yesterday I said there was something to look forward to.
The good news is, I'm coming down off the plateau I've been on for four months. It's not much, but it's a beginning with one pound. However, as usual, the picture speaks louder than the pounds have for the past four months. So does the fact that the clothes I didn't give away to the church free rummage giveaway are also showing signs of being way too big for me, and that's a good thing. Also those clothes I just bought so I would have something to wear, will also be too big before too long.
To say I'm loving this food management program I've been on for 10 months is an understatement. Before I went back to college in 1992 I was only 10 pounds overweight. And as all of you know, ten pounds isn't very much, and it doesn't make you look like all you eat 24/7 is junk food. Which believe me, I never ate before I went to college, and I didn't eat after either. Junk food wasn't my problem, and never was.
Though with this food program, I've eliminated every form of junk food from my diet. Also eliminating things like dairy and breads and grains has also been beneficial to me.
All my life I had a phlegm/hacking problem. Since eliminating those items from my diet, I haven't had that problem, at least not every day. There are still days when I feel that problem is back, but it doesn't last very long. Mostly a wake up thing now.
So, not only have I lost a decent amount of weight, with still a lot more to go, but I'm healthier than I have been my entire life, since I've had that problem my whole life, and so did my mother, who was always hacking. Well, not anymore, and not in 10 months.
When I mentioned that I don't have that problem any longer, people told me I probably had a gluten problem. So, staying away from those foods in the future will be in my best interests.
So, as the picture shows, this is the new me. It excites me just a little bit as it looks like I'm getting a figure back as well, and it's about time. I don't expect to get my girlish figure back, but I would like to look decent, and not pick clothes off the plus size rack, which I no longer am.
When I started this food program in August of last year, I was wearing a 2X and sometimes 3X. I was also wearing a size 20 swimsuit. Last week I started wearing a size 12 swimsuit and my clothes are 0X size 14. Not bad for ten months on this food program.
I still have a long ways to go, and once my knee heals, I'll be back in the fitness center busting the weight off my thighs and knees, where most of it is at the moment. And I will bust that weight off. I have every intention of gaining my old weight back and perhaps lose even more, as I've also shrunk since I gained all the weight, so my goal weight, according to my height is 115 pounds. I've still got a hundred pounds to go.
My weigh in was Monday, June 4. My next weigh in is July 4. Thanks for reading.

@kobesbuddy She's good at taking pictures, some were just too far away. So she zoomed it in closer.

You are making wonfderful progress! Congratulations!
"Also eliminating things like dairy and breads and grains has also been beneficial to me." I also think that doing that is good for our health and avoid those things.

Congratulations Valerie, I am glad you can stick on your diet and you now feel well. May be you have a gluten intolerance, but it is also possible that you also have a lactose intolerance, the two combined gave you plenty of problems. I have a mild lactose intolerance, there are dairy products that I have to avoid.

I doubt I'll go back to dairy, though I do love cheese. I've never been lactose intolerant, at least not that I'm aware of. After what I've learned about gluten, I"m almost positive I have a gluten problem. Feeling like I do now, it's doubtful I'll return to that lifestyle. I like eating healthy. Thank you.

You look great! Keep up the good work.
I find walking and dancing gives a good cardiovascular workout for women our age. It took pounds off of me along with my diet regimen.
