“Can YOU determine a PERSON’S PERSONALITY through their WRITINGS?"

When I was still in university, my English teacher claimed that she can know the persona of her students by just reading their write-ups. During that time, I was so skeptical of what she had claimed. She can also know if a student didn’t write his or her compositions. Now, I had realized that she’s right on this matter. I can tell the persona of someone when reading his or her writings. I am not that expert. Thus, I appreciate the beautiful minds of mylotters and can see the real personas when reading their compositions.

Yes exactly, like pieces of a puzzle because as i've mentioned in my other comment, personality is complex and multi faceted. You are just seeing a piece of the person through their writing but not the whole.

@pitsipeahie I agree. It is more reliable if we perceived a person when seeing them. It was my hobby during my working days in my previous companies. But then, there are some good actors in real life.

@abhinalstrikr Indeed, my friend. There are still some flaws in their writings. It cannot be determined if there are some grammar errors and cannot picture out the real flow of their thoughts on something.

@Shavkat because writing certain things might be state of mind in that case we maypredict certain things about oneself but not all the things and it doesnot determine as for me the complete persona of a being

There are some people can hide their real persona through their writings. We can determine this if being acquainted with the writer. It can be a close friend or family member. The compositions might not be in details, but we can predict what's really at the back of their minds.

Personally, I really don't think so, may be a little about the person.
But then, there is graphology right? So I guess....

Hi Shav. I believe so. It shows a person's character and soul. You see the depth of that person.

I agree. I think we can determine the personas while actively interacting with them. myLot is a good site for knowing the persona of the members through their writings. Some might not agree because the platform is virtually done. But then, if we are constantly connected to them. We can also determine if he or she is hiding something based on previous interactions and the like through writings.

Yes, I believe! This trait is being used in Military Service Commission Boards while selecting the candidates for them after assessing their personalities through some write ups along with many other tests! That is very true and I agree with your thoughts! Thanks!

I do think it is. Reading between the lines of compositions can still reveal the real persona of an applicant. I had also experienced or can be experienced when applying to certain jobs in companies. They require the applicants to write something about them or certain topics. The HR will determine the applicants' personas through their writings.

In theory this is true and I talk to people here that I get on with very well. They appear to be honest and sincere but on the other hand we can be anyone we want to be online so it would be possible to create a false persona and be someone we are not.

@Shavkat Yes and on dating sites they can pretend to be a completely different person, even putting up fake pictures.

@sprite1950 I do agree with you. Dating sties online can practice this. For some people, they put their lives in danger. For instance, having a meeting up after being friends on Fb.

In real-life, we can able to determine a person's personality if being acquainted with him or her. In a virtual aspect, I do agree that it is not that easy. They cannot tell the whole story. For the reason that they wanted to share only a part of it here.

Someone's handwriting may give us a hint about their personality. Some articles claimed that messy handwriting may be a sign of intelligence and small compressed penmanship denotes laziness. It's not always the case. Our handwriting are often influenced by our emotions.I t can changed when we are angry, depressed, or just tired.

@kareemadivina Uhm I think @AKRao24 got my point on this discussion. I do agree with you that a person's personality can be determined through penmanship. It is also how authorities can be distinguished if the signature is fraud or genuine. I was pointing to the flow of thoughts through writings.

i feel you, kabsat. since we are both teachers, we have that 'capability (!!!)' to know the personalities of our students.
i know that too because i have so many learning feedback diaries by my students and with those, i know their attitude as future nurses.

It is really a good feeling to know what runs into people's minds through their writings. Being a teacher is tough when trying to make the best for the students. There are no regrets for doing it. Because there is always positive outcome in the end.

I like to think I am a decent judge of character.
I know that everyone puts parts of themselves into anything they write. It is up to us to sift through their humor, their sadness and their anger to see the person they really are displayed before us.
Yes, I believe we can see who a person is through their writing...
