Smart or Casual Dresser?

I am more of a casual dresser although I do wear smart clothes if I have to go to an occasion like a wedding or a funeral. I wouldn't feel comfortable dressed in my best clothes every day although there are some people who seem to look immaculate all the time, perfect clothes and makeup. Where do they find the time?
I think you can still look smart in a nice pair of jeans and top as long as you are clean and tidy. How do you like to dress?

I like to dress casually but when I used to work for a company, I need to dress smart.

Yes I remember my daughter went in to her new job in a pair of leggings and they told her she must wear proper trousers!

@mlgen1037 No they let her stay. I think she had to go out and buy some work trousers the same day!

It takes me minutes to put on make up too! When I was younger I used to wear more so it took longer.

@LadyDuck I don't wear foundation, just a bit of blusher as I can be pale and I like to wear mascara as my lashes are a bit fair.

@sprite1950 I never wore a lot, it does not take long to make up the eyes a bit and put on foundation on the face.

I dress casually as much as I can! It also helps that I live in Florida, where it is perfectly acceptable to wear shorts all the time! I even where shorts to work! lol

I think the US is more laid back than we are. My daughter wore leggings to work in her first office job and was told she should wear proper trousers (pants in US speak). She had to go out and buy some as she didn't have any.

@moffittjc I used to know a Canadian guy and he would use a swear word in the middle of a two syllable word which always made me laugh. Nobody seemed to mind though.

@sprite1950 What? A Canadian who used swear words? That's unheard of! Canadians are just too nice for that!

I feel good and feel more professional I remember when I first started out and sold somewhere and only sold one thing someone suggested to wear a t-shirt to show them what I can do for them but it did not work out. I learned lots along the way. Now, I am stuck.

@nela13 I tend to wear canvas slip on shoes in the summer as they are so easy to slip on and off.

Since I'm not Barney Stinson who wears a suit in every occasion, I prefer wearing casual clothes unless it's a formal event or going to church. I just go with a polo shirt and jeans almost every day except Sundays. It's decent to look at and in case of emergency formal events, it could work also as you just tuck it in. (hehe)

@JudyEv I still wear them in my 60s but I can't imagine my mum would have done at that age as the fashion was so different then.

@sprite1950 Fashions were much more important back then. Not necessarily being very well-dressed but jeans just wouldn't have 'cut it' as they say.

@sprite1950 You see jeans just about anywhere these days although some places with a dress code ban people wearing jeans.

Casual all the way. I don't mind dressing up once in a while, but I like to be comfortable. I don't have many dress clothes. I just don't have anywhere to wear them.
