Happy July!
June was such a wonderful month for me. However, it left little time for myLot.
Last Saturday both grandkids left for summer camp. Our grandson left from Westchester, New York by camp bus to attend his first summer away at camp in New Hampshire.
Our Ice Princess left a couple of hours later by jet from Westchester, New York to spend her 4th summer at camp in Maine. She is back on the ice after suffering a broken ankle. At camp she will continue therapy and be checked by an orthopedic surgeon. She is thrilled to be back to normal.
So am I!

I have to say those children are always on the go, like their grandmother.

That's really good. I think it's good for kids to have some real fun in the summer. I am sure they will enjoy it.

That's great news that she is back to normal. The ice is so inviting as it is so hot here.

@DianneN I think our skating days are over. Don't the seats have heaters like some cars?

@allknowing It's mainly weekend things and a few lunches with friends. I do have one doctor's appointment for my face, which will put me out of commission for a few days. I consider that more myLot time. lol

Hi Louise! That is her at practice at camp. She has to practice her routines every day. The coach is one she worked with last year and several years ago in Manhattan. There is a photographer there who takes photos of the campers doing activities and puts it on the camp website. My son sent me about 25 photos of her already. Lol! She loves camp and seeing her friends and making new ones. They are from all over the country.

@mlgen1037 I believe she will be working on new routines after camp and new steps, too. There is so much to learn. Usually the competitions begin in January until June. She missed many after she broke her ankle. She adores camp and all her little friends. She loves all the activities, too. It's a well run camp and the owners are wonderful.

@DianneN Amazing. She has a lot on her sleeves. For sure you are all delighted seeing her photos. Will she be competing soon? And she sure is loving camp and seeing her friends again.

I was wondering if she had gone off to camp. My grands are in day camps and their parents are driving around like crazy trying to get it all figured out. I dropped and picked up Jack two days last week. I am anxious to hear how your grandson likes his camp, first year is always a little touch and go.

@DianneN My daughter lives in Amston, no buses from there. My granddaughter lives in Middletown but every week she goes to a different camp, one-week acting, one-week dancing, one week something else. It is crazy but its what she likes

@BelleStarr That camp sounds awesome!!!! I know that there are so many activities from which to choose at my granddaughter's camp, but the activities must be chosen on a form well before camp starts. Of course, she can only choose so many, because there is not enough time in a day for them all. I think she is allowed 4 or 5 besides ice skating.

Both went to day camp in NY and were picked up and dropped off by bus. Of course, CT is different and we drove our kids to camp. My son and his wife are happy as can be and will visit them for visiting weekends and vacation in Halifax and other places while "up" there. Right now, my DIL is working hard to relocate the parents with their children in Texas.
Our grandson spent a trial week last summer at this camp and loved it. Hope it lasts for 6 more weeks!!!

@just4him He is a bright little guy. Many thanks. Would you believe they wanted to have my granddaughter skip 4th grade last year and go into 5th? We were all against it for many reasons, and she didn't want to leave her friends. She attends a public school. Our grandson attends a private school, so it didn't make much difference.

Thank you! We are so happy she's back doing her skating. Our grandson has goalie camp for two weeks after this camp. At this camp, he'll be doing more scientific things like building drones. He loves all things science and math related and did so well in school this year after skipping second grade and going into 3rd grade. Of course, there are the usual camp activities, too, and he loves camp - so far.

@kobesbuddy Her NY doctor told her she could skate without jumps. She's a tough kid and has a doctor up there to keep an eye on her ankle. I certainly hope she is healed enough not to do more damage. It's impossible to keep her still.
