Sense of direction

I think people either have a sense of direction or do not. I think it is a natural thing.
Do you have natural sense of direction?
I don't. Ha ha. Instructions and directions for me must be kept in terms of landmarks and / or street names not in north, south, east, west terms.

@FayeHazel Thank you. I guess that is better than being lost in life.

I have a phenomenal sense of direction. I don't even have to think about where I'm going or where I am. I just do it. My internal GPS is on remote control.

My daughter is like that. She sure didn't get that from me, though.

I have no sense of direction. When I was sixteen I was in Tulsa, Oklahoma for a birthday party. Later, I left to go back to the Oklahoma City area. I ended up close to Joplin, Missouri. In my meager defense, I had never been to that part of Tulsa before, and interstate looks the same for hundreds of miles. However, in a moment of being candid: how did I not notice the stinking signs were different before I got Missouri?!

Oh dear... I can totally understand how that could happen though. And look what a cool story you can tell now. :-)

I don't know. I have this rule that always seems to work for me. When I get lost I take a right, a left, a right, a left until I recognize something.

Good plan. Like my dad says, if lost, keep driving. Eventually you find something you recognize

It probably takes a lot of practice ... something like 'knowing which "Cardinal Direction" (North, South, East, West, Northeast, Southwest, etc) your house faces' and 'which Cardinal Directions your street runs' etc. and reminding yourself everyday.
And you can probably sense the magnetic pull of the north-&-south poles so (with some practice) you can close your eyes and know which way you're facing.

Ah, good points. I have memorized which end of town is East vs. West.... perhaps I should pay more attention to the magnetic pull with quiet and medtation

@FayeHazel yes, I think so too. My sister in law always rely on me when going to places than her brother (my husband)

@FayeHazel That is funny. I had to use my sense of direction to get my husband on the highway coming home today.

I am a person that if I do not know where I am suppose to go does not use Waze or the other because people have been known to wander in wrong places so I ask people and keep asking till I get the right directions.

I have no sense of direction. I even need a map in my own town. I once had a new boyfriend and he was going to drive me home for the first time. He said: "Tell me which way I have to drive" Me: "Okay, let me check the map" He thought that I was joking. I wasn't
