I was out grocery shopping tonight as I needed some things to make the lemonade pie I am taking to the picnic tommorrow..this was in the evening. I don't often go to the store at that time..but I didn't really have a choice..While I was there, I decided I was thirsty, and I also needed a little pick me up..so I spied the Starbucks Frappucino in the refrigerator case. I just had to have one. Drinking any kind of coffee drink in the evening is usually taboo for me, .especially a Starbucks. I was thinking at the time, I hope I don't regret this..but it was so good! Do you ever drink caffeine when you know you shouldn't?

Yes I do. Before I get t that though, so you decided on lemonade pie? I saw a recipe for that just yesterday and I thought of you. Let us know how it fairs yeah? Anyway, I just had a soda earlier today even though I told myself I would be good and NOT drink soda. In my defense, I drink more water than anything else.

@stbrians There are a lot of bad things in most sodas and it usually makes me feel a bit sick.

@stbrians Sodas made with sugar cane are better for you but sodas in general are still bad. I have a condition which makes me feel ill if I drink too much caffeine or sugar laden foods.

Yes, I had some left over. It is very light..Truly a summer pie, and easy to make too. Sadly, I don't really think it is an award winner, but it is tasty!

I have known other people like that,,who are not affected by caffeine..but I have to watch it. I wish I could drink as much as I really wanted.

I think I am fine drinking coffee. There is no restriction in many ways at this point. If I am in your shoe, I will be tempted.

@snowy22315 I think we need to quench our thirst in certain drinks.

If I drink caffeine after 2 PM I can be sure that I cannot sleep all the night.

I am not quite that bad..but after about 6 I know I can only have a little or I know I won;t sleep. Last night, the frap didn't bother me as much as I thought it might..I just ended up going to sleep a bit later.

@snowy22315 I made the mistake to drink a coke once, I forgot it contains caffeine, I was thirsty and it was the only thing available. I was unable to sleep the whole night.

Many times I did that (drinking coffee in the evening) and I ended up sleeping regardless (I must have been too tired and the caffein just couldn't do a thing to keep me awake!).

Yeah, actually I slept fine..but I went to sleep later than usual. I was playing around with Hulu and found a movie to watch..but I kept stopping it, and reading about the actors in the movie..lol.

@YrNemo Yes, if the movie is not that riveting..I will start thinking about the actors or the location or something and start googling.

Definitely. I have an energy drink in front of me now and I will be trying to sleep in about 1.5 hours. Gah!

Yeah..hmmm good luck! Some of them do have a lot of caffeine. I am not really a fan of those.but sometimes the store in town has the flavors that didn't sell for like a quarter a can. I can't resist the price on those..and buy them.

Hope it's an easy recipe and good luck-- no worries- you could try counteracting that caffeine with warm milk if you have any problems.

That's a good idea! Fortunately, those fraps seem to contain a lot of milk.

All the time! I am a tea fiend, so it's pretty much at hour the tea kettle is on, and the pot ready.

@snowy22315 Yes. I've tried the decaffeinated, and it really tastes off, so I stay with regular tea.
