My eldest daughter wants me to act as a doctor for her boy friend.

It seems that Tania´s boyfriend has some back problems. She asked me for the name of "the best" back doctor I knew. She got very anxious when I started asking her symptoms so he will call me later, it seems.
I don´t know what kind of doctor he needs if no one tells me what is the problem. I have to tell my best friend who is a doctor to recommend a specialist. But we have to know what sort of doctor does he need.
It is difficult to be a mother. Tomorrow I´ll be a nanny, today I must be a doctor. Other days I have to be a cook or a psychologist
The rol of a mother is very complex. Don´t you think so?

You never stop being a mom no matter how old you become.

@Shavkat At all ages, in fact. Only small children really need to be looked after.

I think that my task ends will my daughters (both over 50). I cannot be the mother of a 60 year old baby

@marguicha I do agree with you. At that age, we need to enjoy life.

@LadyDuck I had not read that comment. It is such a pity that your brother forgot how you cared for him when he was little.

I think the same goes with a father. Though I would agree that the mother tends to connect more with their children during those times.

It is good she trusts your judgement though. Yes you do have to have more information to make a proper recommendation.

Her BF is a 60 year old man. He should know when he has to go to a doctor.

I agree totally with that! My daughter is suffering with anxiety and she doesn't have a family doctor. There is a doctor shortage in the province where we live and finding a good one is next to impossible. I'm helping her to find one. I have one but he is not taking any new patients, otherwise I'd refer her to him.

@marguicha She calls me at midnight sometimes when she can't sleep. I don't mind. I'm usually up until 2am anyway.

I totally agree..it keeps changing so many times in the same day..cook, nurse, tutor, mother, driver....it is never ending and it goes 24*7 with no paycheck.

I can help my daughters. But to ask me to help their BFs 24/7 is expecting too much of me.
