I am still reeling from the news of Aretha Franklin's passing. However, I have been comforted by the many wonderful memories I have of her. One of my best Aretha Franklin moments is her appearance in the Blues Brothers movie. In memory of the Queen of Soul, here are some fun facts. 1) First album Songs of Faith was released at age 14 2) She learned to play the piano by ear 3) 17 top ten pop singles and 20 #1 R&B singles 4) The first woman to be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 5) Went on tour with Dr Martin Luther King at age 16 6) The second woman to be inducted in the UK Music Hall of fame 7) Ranked first on the Rolling Stones list of greatest singer of all time (2011) 8) Performed at President Obama's inauguration 2009 9) Too many honors and awards to mention 10) Sold 75 million records Rest in peace Aretha Do you have a favorite Aretha Franklin song or memory? And didn't she have a few different hairstyles? It's very sad that she has passed away. 76 can't really be considered old.
