Cash it or keep it?

I was reading about a very famous movie star from back in the day (he died in 2004 at age 80). It was disclosed that many personal checks written by this star were often never cashed - as his signature was usually worth more than the amount on the check. Can you guess which movie star?
Anyway, what would you do with a check from a very famous person? Would you cash it, sell it or frame it?

At my age I would definitely cash it and buy myself something.
I lived next door to Marlon (and Wally Cox when they were together) on Laurel Canyon Drive off of Hollywood Boulevard in 1955 and never saved anything I got from him (or others!)

I think Wally Cox was more important than Marlon Brando. He was extremely underrated as a comedian.

It would depend on the amount of the check.

If it was someone I really liked I would probable just keep it. Just think even if you just kept it, you couldn't go wrong if it was a real famous star's signature because the value would just keep going up. Now you have me wondering who this is, I'm going to look it up and see. I would guess Betty Davis.

Take a picture – front and back. Frame it! For sure I'll never get another one like it. LOL. Cash it. If the person is alive I'll say Thank You. If they are no longer with us, I'll either put flowers on their grave or contribute to a cause or charity they supported to show my appreciation.
Of course, if the check was payment for a job I had done for them and they were late paying me, I might sue their estate. They should have paid me when the money was due. Since they didn't, I think I'm due a reasonable interest on the amount for the time I had to wait to receive payment. When it comes to money owed to me, being famous got nothing to do with it! LOL.

At this time that I'm crazy for money because of very high inflation rate in my country, going to cash it.

This is just among the benefits of being famous. You have this continuous valuation and admiration. If they did not cash it, they might keep it for possible auction.
If this happen to me, if the amount is just small I'll just keep it and display as remembrance.

I am guessing John Wayne. I am with Deb. I think I would see which was worth more the signature or the check itself.
