Have you ever travelled standing on a bus or a train?

In recent years I've never travelled standing. When I was in college I used to travel standing on a bus often for about half hour. Did the same when I started working. During those days, I've even travelled standing on a bus or train for 3 to 4 hours between cities. I usually stand when all the seats are taken.
I don't think I can do that nowadays.

Every Friday afternoon, the students go home over the weekend, there are always many people on the bus, I often stand at this time.

A lot! More than I can count. It's got a bit easier now as the hours I travel towards work/tuition are before office hours, and I get up from the terminal underground station, so I get to sit. Sometimes same with the bus. But during returning, oh my God! I can't remember last when I got a place to sit, it's so rare.

yikes, that's a too long time standing, I won't do that. I won't. Aren't you considering moving to a house close to work?

@Mavic123456 I'll probably be still able to do it. Just don't want to try

I still do that sometimes. The bus gets very crowded during rush hour, especially the buses that travel to the Universities. They are packed with students.

@pitstop Usually over an hour, depending on where I was going, and sometimes I'd have to ride both a bus and a train if I was going to work

@pitstop Well, I would never want to stand up in any buses or trains for many hours at all as I'm not used to that. And in my country, we don't allow ladies to stand up. That's why I was kind of shocked I had to experience that in Bangkok when all the men were seated..

@pitstop It was not an adventure. The train had just left the station.I tried to enter the first compartment that was in front of me,but it was reserved for military. They refused to open the door and asked me to go to another compartment.Seconds later the train was crossing a bridge over a flooded river.
