The rain has stopped and the winds are gone in our area from Hurricane Florence. No flooding or wind damage in our area.
We're so very thankful to God for protecting us. Our children are okay, even our daughter and family who evacuated from Charleston to Georgia came back to no damage there.
Our granddaughter in Charlotte is okay, as is our son and grandson in Greenville.
Haven't heard yet from our great granddaughter and her family in Wilmington. That area and around New Bern really was devastated by the flood waters. I pray they're safe and their homes are still standing.
I know that if the hurricane had stayed on its original track, we'd be most likely flooded right now. The fact that it turned south kept us out of the worst of it.
My heart breaks for all the families who did lose homes and businesses and even family members. Please pray for all of them.
I do know that we weren't spared because of any righteousness of our own. It was God's mercy and although we don't understand why so much pain and damage came from this horrible storm, we can thank and praise him that it wasn't even worse. It very well could have taken many more lives and homes.
I pray for all our myLotters all over the world facing typhoons, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, and wild fires.
Come soon, Lord Jesus. Have mercy on us all.

You're so right to express thanks for being spared. And I think that those of us who were not in the path of the storm should be thankful as well. That, too, is a blessing from God.

Nice to see and hear that you and your family are all safe, praise God. The super typhoon " Ompong " that devastated the Northern part of the country, also spared Metro Manila ( where we are) from a direct hit, just exited to the sea a few hours ago.

I don't think it's that God is limited, but that he chooses to let humans and nature make their own choices. Nature and people have been in rebellion since the fall of Adam and Eve.

God is good! Do keep an eye on the river levels, though. All that water has to go somewhere, and God gave us the law of gravity (water flows down)....

You're right, the rising rivers could be a problem.
