Those Stinkers!

Last month we bought ourselves two beautiful large orange mum plants and two beautiful large yellow mum plants for our son’s house.
They looked fabulous against his yellow house.
Yesterday, he had pizza at our house for dinner, since his wife was away at a theater conference for a few days.
He told us that an animal munched half of one mum plant while we were all out at a restaurant on Sunday night. It ate the other half during the day yesterday.
We don’t know what animal gobbled it up, but he’s leaving the other mum plant for whichever stinker is hungry.
~Photo is of Doodles the cat guarding our mum plant from other stinkers out and about!~

@rebelann He does have a large haunch due to his long back legs, but he is fine, thank goodness.
It will be over before you know it, and you'll be able to examine Doodles much better and very soon. While you recuperate, I will take plenty of photos for future discussions. My prayers go out to you and I'll be thinking of you. I wish I lived closer to help out. PM me when you are back on your feet to let me know how you are.

That must be a trick of the light. His back is fine. He's asleep next to me in front of the fireplace and listening to opera. I just felt his back to be sure. His daddy examines him every day, too. He's fine and went to visit Kuma's grave. He just stands there to pay his respects.
How are you doing? I've been thinking about you. Is it still on for Thursday?

@DianneN - Oh, no! Do you think it was deer who took a bite, or some other critter?

@Courtlynn Too late in the season for flowers. Oh well. It was pretty while it lasted. He has a giant pumpkin in its place. Lol

That is very sad. That is why I do not have plants on my porch because I know Sophie will make a terrible mess and then I have to clean it up. It is bad enough the jerk above us has plants and lets anything fall down on us and he does not care.

That's weird. I wonder what does eat mums anyway.
Great photo. Cute Doodles

Thank you! He is a handsome boy and is loved like crazy. Bunnies and deer are the culprits thanks to info from @JESSY3236. Bless her!

The critters can be a real nuisance. The rabbits eat my tomato plants, the chipmunks dig up my sugar snap pea seeds, the squirrels stir my seeds out of pots to place something else. I swear I am going to start finding recipes for these guys.
