Being British, I am none of these. However, I do remember being told at school that the main American parties - at that time back in the 1960s - were very similar in terms of their political scope, encompassing a wide range of opinions that overlapped in many places. The division into left and right seems to have intensified in recent years, though.
That said, the Democrats are far from being a true left-wing party even now. They probably have much more in common with the British Conservative Party than the Labour Party.
One thing that has always puzzled me is why the Republicans use the colour red and the Democrats blue. Red is recognized the world over as the colour of left-wing parties, but not apparently in the United States!

I no longer even care what the political parties are doing. It's impossible to tell what a candidate will do once in office and my trust level in our government (any government) is really really low. I am not saying all politicians are bad guys, I just think I can run my own life without em.
ETA: I don't consider myself any of the above.

I'm registered as a Democrat, although my personal politics are probably closer to socialist.

I used to vote for Ralph Nader, though this last I voted Hillary. I think I'm middle of the fence in a lot of ways

@amadeo I know, I wonder. I heard he was working with consumer rights... but I just looked as was unable to confirm that. I think he would have been a great president

I am a lifelong Democrat, the other side has never had a candidate that I could begin to support. As far back as Hoover and beyond, probably, they have been the party that advocates for the most wealthy and privileged and today it is worse than ever. They want to attack Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid now and will do so if they retain both houses.
