Why do people celebrate Christmas earlier?

I can't understand why people celebrate Christmas earlier. When Christmas will come people will be bored because they celebrated it in November. If I would have a Christmas tree now when the Christmas will come I would be so bored of that tree. If you celebrate Christmas earlier how do you feel when Christmas is coming?

@dya80dya Because the shop keepers tell us we must and we always do what the shops tells us. Everybody else does anyway. I don’t.

It's true. This one of the reasons.

I celebrate Christmas on Christmas day. I enjoy the lights and the tree for a whole month. Never get tired of it.

You enjoy them for a whole month, but some people enjoy them for a few months. I would be bored to have a Christmas tree for a few months. I usually keep my Christmas tree until the end of January.

@dya80dya I personally think that I can feel the Christmas season starting on the month of September and no need to celebrate it, except on Christmas Eve.

we just put up the decorations and play christmas songs earlier than other countries, then we have the family reunions, gift giving, going to mass, etc on the 24th and 25th, which is the actual celebration. companies have their employee christmas parties early, like 1st/2nd week of december because the christmas season can be peak season for their industry.

Actual celebration would be on the eve of the actual date where people prepares special dishes but some people would just welcome its spirit by putting decorations early to feel the touch of the season at home and establishments. This is true here in my country because starting the "BER" months, that suggest that holiday is approaching and is OK to put the holiday touch that early.

Years ago, I tried to get my wife to celebrate Christmas a week later to take advantage of all of the deals that are available after Christmas Day, not to mention that the stores aren't as crowded. That didn't happen.

I've not heard of people celebrating Christmas earlier, though companies often have Christmas parties earlier than Christmas. What I don't get is why stores start selling Christmas stuff when we didn't even get to celebrate Thanksgiving yet. I've seen some Christmas stuff already in stores when it wasn't even Halloween yet.

I love Christmas but funny we never have family or any presents usually. I just love the spirit of it. We do not do earlier at all.
