Cherry Blossom Time

Cherry blossoms are not indigenous where I live .
But in my neighbouring state of Meghalaya ,which translated means ,"The abode of the clouds" , these trees have been imported and planted.
They have survived and adapted to the soil and climate.Because of our mild winters instead of being a spring festival ,it is a winter festival.
The trees flower in the month of November and we enjoy the beautiful pink flowers.

These flowering trees are now the prime attraction for a tourist festival.
It was an experiment which paid off..The trees adapted to the climate

in my javanese language, "megha" mean clouds too. javanese is very influenced by sanskrit and other indian language

Yes,these towers are in Meghalaya..They consulted with Japanese experts and planted them.its just that they flower here in November

Yes it is a recent .. say 5 years event. They collaborated with the Japanese experts.
