Do you love reading and writing poetry pieces?

The mind has vast space to tranquil on, imagination has no bound so long as one creative genius is always at peace with oneself. The beauty of imagery is a tool in creating a surreal poetry piece. Poetry for me serves as healing, a purging of emotions, handcrafted and woven in an artistic crescendo as an echoing voice of the writer to its reader. Unlike novels and short story, it serves no direct and clear path where the story is heading. Poetry means to enter a maze without clear passage. It is meant to be understood fully in order to unravel a clear pathway. Poetry draw readers a backdrop of vivid color in different hues, how they want to paint it in their minds depends on them. What is you take on this one? I would love to hear your thoughts!

I can tell you are a poet. That was a very poetic, romantic discription of poetry I have ever read. Thank you.

@MelanthaKrasos I like writing acrostic poetry where the first letter in each line spells out the title or what the contents pertain to. It's challenging but it's fun.

I truly feel the same. I am happy to see someone like me who can do poetry and loves to do it in order to not get paid but to express her herself.

I do love poetry. I haven't written any for a while but I've just posted a couple of my old ones on another site. I also have a poetry blog, and I think it's easy to tell a lot about the mood of my life, and how it's changed, from reading the poems on there. I write a lot less poetry than I used to. I think, apart from a lack of time, poetry is an outlet for emotion and I've not had so much need of it lately. As for reading it, I like some but it must be short because I don't have a great attention span!

This is a very nice post Kris! I am a poetry lover as well. I have written poetry since High School and used to write it during classes when I feel the emotions pouring out. But unlike you, I need to enrich my vocabulary and improve on writing techniques and have my own style. I am 30 now and still have the passion for poetry, and also other types of writing. Someday I will also want to post my stuff here and hope to see you still.

I tried haiku once and that's as much as I can handle.

No. I don't write poetry because I am not so good at it.
