@jassyay Also there are companies that do not hire some people because they feel they will be bored with the job they applied for because they are over qualified for the job and the job is not rght for them.

Well, yes, but you have to understand them. They have a business to run, most of them have no time to lose and they need experienced people. Large companies can afford that, but small businesses can't.

@jassyay indeed. They should give some benefits to a company that hires students or inexperienced people. Also a system for training facilities .

I know what you mean. They want the benefit of someone who is already experienced - but how do we get experience if no-one will hire us in the first place?

I know.. That may be unfair as there may be many who are more capable but not skilled as in doesn't have the right degree.. But it seems to be the easiest way to hire people.. :)

I think there are still some companies hiring freshmen. I was quite worried I didn't get a job when I just graduated as I thought I didn't really have any skills and no experience, I was glad I have found companies that hired fresh graduates.

yeah it is quite funny though - how will people even be experienced if they can't be hired first

And you have to wonder what is going to happen when all the skilled people begin to retire. My daughter is going through the same thing. She doesn't have the experience... just tons of education! No one seems interested. :(

Yes, we used to have a system called Manpower Skills Center, that provided a certain amount of training to prepare unskilled workers to get into the trades market. On the job training is not as often available as jobs that require some level of prior experience. And it does make things hard for the beginner.

I agree with you. That is why I want to remain self-employed.

Yes you are right. But some are there who are not satisfied with their salary and don't want to do the job. So unemployment continues.
