*Reminder: Public airing of personal grievances

This is not something I should even have to remind anyone about. But some recent events seem to warrant it. Personal attacks, public infighting, etc are not going to be tolerated. This goes for everyone. If you don't happen to get along with someone, simply avoid their posts. Don't post discussions about said differences.

I think we should be friends with whom we choose and allow others to do so also.

This is the spirit of myLot that helps it succeed. The kindness that elevates us above other well known social networks. Thank you.

You are quite right that discussing is not the same as arguing and fighting and I think this is where a lot of people go wrong.
They disagree with someone's opinion on something and rather than challenge the opinion or stop to understand why this person holds that opinion they immediately resort to name calling and insults.
Attack an argument not the person.

i wouldn't be comfortable knowing my private messages were being monitored here. you can change your PM settings to 'Only Those I Follow Can Message Me'.
for private messages that you feel really crosses the line, you can copy/paste it in a private message to mylot admin.

I would hope more members are like you. I haven't had very many problems here but I've read that there have been a few people who have been harrassed by one.

@rebelann yes it is. We're all adults, and should be mature enough to ignore others if we cant get along with them, or dont like what they do or say.

Well, I never do that. At most, there could be a difference of opinion, conveyed in a decent way.
If such things are happening, I think that people ought to be mature and calm headed and avoid things that spread a negative atmosphere here.

You are correct but unfortunately many adults are not all that mature.

@rebelann Yeah, but if it's people who simply do not get along no matter what, they need to just block instead of stirring the pot just because they don't like them, and not make rude remarks about them. There are many others to interact with, I don't think blocking someone when need be will make a huge difference. Sometimes you just gotta do what's best for you. :)

I do the same, if I can't think of something constructive and kind to say than why bother.

Yes. Very immature to do so on a public forum. If you don't like someone - take it up with them privately or just avoid...

@rebelann I agree. Unfortunate , indeed. Somehow - I never seem to see any of these type of posts so admin must be really on the ball, fortunately. :-D
