I'll see you Friday

It’s early Tuesday morning and we’re leaving shortly to drive for an hour then pick up our hired house-boat. I don’t expect to be able to post while I’m away and by the time I get back it will be February. I can hardly believe a month has gone already. The day we get back we are going to community lawn bowls that evening (Friday) and seeing two international films on Saturday.
We have lots to look forward to in February. We have another four international films to look forward too. We are also playing community bowls each Friday for the month so that should be fun.
So I hope you all stay safe and well and I’ll see you next month. I do hope a crocodile doesn’t eat me.
Do I REALLY need to say that’s a joke? I suppose I do. That’s a joke, folks. No crocodiles where we’re going. Just a few sharks maybe – or maybe not.
The photo is of a house-boat we hired another time. I think today's is sort of a box on floats. If we were younger we could make our own.

I did wonder about the waterway that you are on, no alligators or crocs? I would never swim anywhere in Florida except the pool lol Have a great time

@JudyEv I never trust that crocs or alligators can't go beyond where people might think, any body of water is possible in my head. But I am glad you had a great time.

@BelleStarr At the moment, the nearest crocs are 18,000 kms (11,000 miles) away so I think we were pretty safe. .

Have fun! I want one of those boats. I would probably live there in the summer, eat fish and just swim all the time.

There are a lot of house-boats on the river and lots of people swimming, fishing and catching crabs.

@snowy22315 We had two nights away which was basically 3 full days. It's pretty expensive but it was our Christmas present to each other.

We were on a boat ride - a package tour - and suddenly right when we were in the middle of that vast river the boatman tells us that the river is infested with crocodiles
It was supposed to be a pleasure ride (lol)

We went up and down the Murray River in Western Australia. There is another Murray River in South Australia but it is much bigger than 'our' Murray River.

No, we didn't get eaten and I even held a snake at a small zoo we went to. That was fine but there was a sign on one path saying to be careful as a venomous snake had been seen in the area. So maybe I was lucky I didn't get et!

@judyev An international film festival is just what's called for in this day of formulaic blockbuster nonsense with the usual cast of pretty boys and girls who turn up in every film. Forgive me for harking back to Paris, but when I lived there in the 80s the art house cinema in the bowels of the Centre Pompidou had a 3 month season of Indian films, 3 films a day, and with a pregnant wife who couldn't waddle to far this was a wonderful place to go. I adore Indian cinema, even if it's not in English and has no subtitles. Haven't a clue what was going on but it was ravishing. These were the old style Bollywood of course, not the derivative, formulaic stuff churned out nowadays. (Feeling just a tad judgemental tonight). Enjoy the boat.
