How a splash photo was taken

I wrote about my husband, Vince taking a ‘splash’ shot with his camera. I thought he had taken multiple images it seems that is not the case. So to satisfy those members who are curious about how he did it, here is what happened.
He had a big white piece of board at the back and the camera was on a tripod. He set the camera on time delay for 10 seconds. After ten seconds the camera takes two photos at a speed of 1/4000 (I don’t know what that means but it’s very fast).
So he pushes the button on the camera, goes back to the glass, counts down ten seconds and pours the wine into the glass. The camera goes off - boom boom - and because it’s so fast it captures the droplets. Piece of cake. Wasn’t that interesting?

With photography, I guess it helps to know what you are doing!

I'm not sure we do! But he does get ideas and then sometimes we have a brainwave that helps.

That is gorgeous... I can imagine something like that framed and placed on a wall. I could stare at that four hours!! I'm headed back up to look at it again lol!!

It is interesting. I would not be able to do it.

We've been trying to get a bigger splash but it's not working very well.

That is interesting. Never experimented with photography. I just go with what my digital camera can snap.

I wish I was good at photography, or even had the time to learn, because there are so many wonderful things you can do with a camera to capture some amazing moments in time. That is a pretty neat effect Vince did to get the splash effect.

We've just some more dropping a grape into water but we haven't got it quite right yet.

Yes, that's cool. I don't know much about photography but I sometimes use the 'sports' setting on my DSLR which allows me to keep my finger pressed on the button and take lots of photos in quick succession. It's great for action shots or anything that is moving quickly.

That is really useful. There is a slight delay in my camera too and if I want to get a horse jumping a fence I have to try to pre-empty the moment.
