Hi, I'm from Venezuela, (I was born and still live here, only left the country once when I was a child and I left for about 5 years) that small tropical south american country that is under the eyes of the world because of many things, the majority of them not so great to be recognise by... I want to say, I love my country, I love the people here, I love the culture, it's just... so hard to keep a smile and a positive mind set when everything is crumbling down on you... but then comes the light at the of the tunnel, and you recover all the energy you need to keep fighting and to make your country great again...I can assure you, that this country and it's people are AWESOME... :) I hope we can all enjoy the new Venezuela even if you are not here or don't even know where it is hahaha...
Here we have so many beautiful things that I think anyone can enjoy, there's something for everyone, here we have snow, deserts, some really cool beaches, very funny and nice people... so I just want to say, I want to see my country rise up again soon! :)

I've never been to Venezuela. Just after WW2, my mother went there to teach the children of American Oil Companies working there. She loved it.
Then my much older, and ne'r do well cousin, met a wonderful woman from Caracas at the University in Tempe. She was wonderful, sweet, beautiful. My mother hosted their wedding here in Colorado, and Mercedes whole family came from their country for the festivities. I was in Jr. High School and fell in love with one of her older sisters. Later my cousin, screwed up the marriage, they divorced, and she went back home. We didn't talk to my cousin over it for a long time. Mercedes asked my mother to quit writing her, as she'd met another man, and he couldn't tolerate her having to do with anything from her U.S. marriage. So we lost contact with her.
Based on the Miss Universe Pagent, I hear that your country has the most beautiful women in the world. I understand that in better times at least, Venezuela has the highest, per capita, rates of cosmetic surgery. I've heard that gasoline was very inexpensive there, at least until the leadership crumbled.
I don't fully understand what's going on there now. I have taken no side. I don't like the things my country has done to hold on to our own interests in your country. I don't trust either government. I fear our idiotic president will do something stupid to make things worse for you all.
I know in better times, I was interested in moving there, for retirement.
Now, I just hope things work out better for you and your beautiful contry.

@sianadrl Good luck to you. I will send all the positive hopes and feelings I can your way. I worry that what you write here, could come back to hurt you in some way. Please be careful. I had a pilot from Venezuela for a while back in the eighties, I liked him. He visited home and contacted some horrible virus that cost him his career. Sad story.... I hope your story gets brighter.

Your comment brought tears to my eyes, it is a difficult topic for me, and it's difficult to explain what is going on here but I can resume it by only saying we are under a dictatorship and are trying to be free, I find a window to freedom what your country is doing for us and many other countries are collaborating to help the ones that are the most affected from all of this.
When I was little I used to live in Cleveland Ohio, I lived there for about 5 years, my sister was born on the U.S, your country is great, I would love to visit it again someday, I'm also scared of what might happen but being in this situation, I'm open to the change and to what would need to be done to free Venezuela from this.

When I think of Venezuela I think of Caracas, Hugo Chávez and Pastor Maldonado. I know its current president is Nicolás Maduro and that the nation's flag is tri-colored (3 even stripes, yellow, blue, red, with stars in the middle of the blue stripe). I've never been to your country before, but I would love to visit it some time in the future...

I'm glad to know that there is a Venezuelan lady in myLot; If nobody else manifests, then we are two Venezuelans to tell the people here that our beloved country is a beautiful country despite the political and socioeconomic difficulties it is going through. Waiting for this situation to change for the better and better. I live in the east, in the Sucre state. Where do you live?

I've watched some documentaries about Venezuela but I'm not sure if they're the right presentation of your country. Anyway, how are you coping up over there?
