Raúl Reyes Well, as I said, papelon and panela are nothing more than boiled cane juice and solidified without chemical additives, and of course there will always be sugars but, logically, in a large percentage less than extrarefined white sugar.

Raúl Reyes @Janet357 Right now, because of the difficult socioeconomic situation of the country, papelon or panela is a cheaper alternative to refined sugar, but not much.

Raúl Reyes That's right, lemon is of great benefit to health. In Venezuela we have unrefined sugar called panela or papelón that substitutes honey very well, and with which we sweeten the lemonade, whether cold or hot.
