Do you still watch a movie even if the ending has been told to you?

I've known some people who just causally give away the ending to a movie even after someone has said they haven't watched it yet. I can only think of 3 reasons as to why this happens. 1: They just weren't thinking and made an honest mistake. 2: They like to show off what they know and feel powerful that they possess the answer. As if they have done a favour for the other person. 3: They are just inconsiderate. I've had this happen to me a few times and I often see people talking about a movie saying how great it is while also giving away the ending. I find that I still want to see the movie but I'm not excited about it anymore. How do you feel when someone gives away the ending to a movie you are wanting to see?

@JohnRoberts So you prefer to read a book first and then watch the movie?

I would and I have provided that the movie is worth watching. Yes if it is a suspense thriller, knowing the end kills the excitement.

@arunima25 I know it can be a mistake so that's ok. I just know some people who do it a lot and it makes me wonder why they like to keep on ruining it for others. And yeah you're exactly right.

@arunima25 Yeah I agree. Some people can be so horrible like that. I don't know why people can be like there. It's wrong.

@VivaLaDani13 You know... If it's a movie that I'm expecting a lot to watch, I would hate it to know the end before I watched it myself.

Even when I know the ending to a movie, I still want to watch it anyway. Even when I know all the spoilers, it doesn't dampen my enthusiasm for seeing the movie. Sometimes, it makes me want to see the movie even more!

I saw a movie about this guy Jesus the other day. I heard and read plenty about him, so I pretty much know an awful lot about his story. But even so, I still watched it from beginning to end. I'll spare you the spoilers, in case you want to watch the film...

I haven't thought about how I'd feel in that situation. I know I try not to give away too many spoilers, and especially not the ending! When I wrote for another site I would, but I would make a big note that there were spoilers so not to read it if they didn't want spoilers.

It's seldom that I meet these kind of people, but if ever I would not mind at all and goes on watching the movie, afterall there are movies that I have watched several times and I still enjoy.

@WorDazza The Sixth Sense was ruined for me too but I heard the ending from another movie. I can't remember what movie it was that gave it away. But I'm usually late seeing new things so it happens to me a lot finding out endings to TV shows or movies that are on my To Watch List.

While that can be annoying, of the end is not the most important thing in a movie (or a book) It's how they got there that really matters.

@norcal You make a very good point! That is true! Also how it all came to be. Like how the story begun in the first place is a cool thing to learn too.

Yes. To be honest, I want to be spoiled hahaha. I want to prepare myself mentally for any sad / tragic ending so I usually beg for any spoilers. To frustrate me, my friends and family members do not divulge anything at all

@YawinaRada lol aw! ok I can understand where you are coming from. I've known people to do that but mainly during horror movies. They want to know if something scary is about to happen to they can be prepared.
