Few stitches here and there...

Yes I am in a mode of deep cleaning which happens every four months in my house. I check for everything here and there. See what needs recycling, repairing or needs to go for charity. It is more of clutter clearing and rearranging.
I think doing this 2-4 times in years helps the house to not get cluttered with things that are no more needed by us but can be of good use to others. Also I come to know of things that I own but have forgotten to use. A rearrangement of things also brings about a good positive vibe.
So I started with checking for all clothes that needed some attention..some alteration or some loose buttons and stitches to be fixed. And there are a few. I have taken 5 of them for today.
Two trousers of my husband with loose buttons, one dress of my elder one which needs a little alteration and a set of pillow cover which has got torn at a wrong angle.
Now for that pillow cover set. It is quite old but still bright and of good quality. And since it has got a hole, it is not worth of donation. I am just going to cut four square pieces out of the two covers and fold their borders to make some napkins that can be taken by my younger one to school as lunch napkin. So that is one recycling project and I am planning to involve my younger one in that. So that would be our project for today afternoon after school. SO some bonding over learning to stitch.
I had long two hours on laptop.I finished one survey and here I could only clear a pile of notifications..phew there were more than 100.
And now I go for a break. Finishing the left over laundry from yesterday, making lunch and going to pick my daughter from school.
See you all later. I will catch for more discussions later.
How is your day going on?

Every household must indulge in such activity at regular intervals. We do it too but when it comes to discarding I hesitate - kind of what if I need this doubt (lol)

I think about it and there is a store cupboard which keeps all of such items which we doubt can be used later.

@allknowing Oh! That would be a luxury. We have a spacious 4BHK penthouse with a big Hall, two balconies and a terrace. But each room is occupied by my children and mom in law. There is no spare room. I have put cupboards in my elder daughters blacony. She has converted it into her art studio. So one cupboard has all art and stationery supplies and waste items that she can use in art. Other one is full of such items which we might need or use later.

We shifted home in the first week of January and discarded many things so no such items at present at home. I realized how many things we kept at home unattended. Really no time to recheck it, getting busy with Sundays on many things no time left for this job.
Hats off to you

@arunima25 IThank you, but it wasn't possible when the boys were young and living with us and having 3 cats and a dog! Your day will come, too!

I had one but that was old and totally worn out. So I got rid of it. I am planning to have one small handy one since a long time.

Yes. It is good to do so. Just watch a movie or listen to music and finish it at one go.

I am keeping one hour each day. It should not take much as I did one in November and so not much has accumulated.

I always take such things when I have a little longer break from my work.
