What bill do you dread receiving and having to pay every month?

It's definitely my electric bill. It's been over $300 for the past 4-5 months and came down to $170 this month. We were out of town one week and then had a cold snap for a week. When I look at my $300+ bill one month, I noticed that only half was for electric usage, the rest were fees and such. The power company is making us pay for all the damage that was done during the hurricanes here in FL in 2004 and 2005. They should have insurance like we have to. Some of my neighbors are even selling their homes because of the high cost of living here. If it's not your electric bill going up, it's your insurance bill doubling or tripling. It's ridiculous.

You are so right! We now have 2 more houses in our neighborhood that are for sale. That makes a total of 12 out of 123, about 10%, for sale just in my neighborhood alone. It's sad. I guess we won't be trying to sell as soon as we thought we might, even though hubby can retire any time after July 1. At least we're not being forced to sell like some of our neighbors.
Thanks so much for giving me the Best Response.

Ah, that sucks. It's not fair that so many people have to try to rebuild their lives after the hurricane, some of them from the ground up literally and then when they get their lives back in order they are hit with huge hikes in their bills. No wonder why people are so stressed out all the time. Thanks for responding.

In the summer it is my electric bill and in the winter it is the gas bill. The fall and spring are great because they are so low.

I think my most expensive bill is the phone/cable/internet bill. They are combined.

I have the same thing, all my bills are hard to pay with the current economy. I hate to pay the rent because it is so high! But, the rest of them are pretty manageable. I wish I didn't have to pay my student loan bill because I could live in a much nicer place than I do now. I think I can manage to make ends meet if I didn't have to pay that bill. I found out that I am going to be near retired before I no longer have to make a student loan payment.
