I have never painted rocks but it sounds very interesting. Do you go somewhere for a class or find rocks and just paint them? I am very curious how ones decides they want to do that? I know Valerie does it and I have read that others have too here.

Yes, I do. Thanks for the mention. I got started because I was totally bored one day and called my friend to see what she was doing and she told me to go over to the ADRC and paint rocks. I wanted out of the apartment, so I went and I totally enjoyed it. It's relaxing and fun.

Actually I found some books about rock painting from the library. They can give me some new inspirations. My problem is where I can find a suitable nice stone

@Shavkat Those rocks in the picture are very pretty. Thanks for the link. I think I want to start with Adult coloring books first and if that calms me then i will do it. I downloaded a book and will try it.

I never have painted rocks, but my father enjoyed it. If anything, I would love to take up oil painting.

Rocks do have a natural texture and sometimes they remind of you of something from shape. You could be creative around that. My problem would be knowing what to do with them. Do you have any ideas for that?

@mynameiskate I do not have fish or an aquarium. I am not a fish person. I have a cat and she would love to eat them. I thought you wanted suggestions is why I Mentioned it.
22 Mar 19
@Hannihar Be careful paint you are using is sealed and doesn't leak into the water for the fish sake? Another thing could be around plant life. It could certainly make for a decorative scene. That was an excellent idea. You should do it.

I have seen some beautiful painted rocks, and I think anyone who had done any kind of drawing or painting should be able to to it. However, if you're looking for a more social experience, a class might be just the thing.

@norcal Thanks Sherry. Actually I was looking for something I could do on my own to relax me. I neither draw or paint so maybe that is not a good project for me. I will start with the Adult coloring book I downloaded on the computer.
