That mylotters a more cat people than dog people?
Although several friends here ask me for Luna, I sense that their main love is a kitty. It is interesting because cats are not really domestic. There is always something wild in them and they will win. It is really a challenge.
Are you aware of this? Cats are always alpha. With dogs you have the hope to be the head.

@Tampa_girl7 I think that I have never thought about having a cat. I did want a dog when I was small though.

@marguicha I've loved cats ever since childhood. I love all animals though. Cats are just my favorite.

I have no cats because my husband is allergic to them. I am surely a cat person because cats seem to feel this, even stray cats approach me to rub me legs. I like dog, but I would never would like to have one, they jump on you, they lick you, they try to steal the food in your dish. Do not tell me that you can make them stop this habit. They do not care if you are "the boss", they do not care at all, unless you treat them really bad, but this is animal abuse and I do not like.

My dog is an outside dog, so I don´t have these problems. I don´t know why, but Luna knew the first day that she should stay outside. She has never tried to come inside, not even if the door is wide open or when she was a baby. Luna is learning not to jump on me, but I am help by a water pistol

@marguicha She will continue to jump on you and if you walk her and a cat pass in front of her, good luck to you. My sister in law broke an arm because her dog pulled her to follow a cat. Most of my friends have dog, when they want they do what they have in their mind.

I have noticed the many cat people here on myLot; including myself. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs and all animals but my husband and I have quite a few cats.
We seem to have mainly domesticated, alpha cats. Is that even possible?
I think with cats, anything is possible.

@marguicha Last year at this time we had 14. It's very sad to say that 2 of my beloveds had to be put to sleep in the last year. The most recent one was just a month ago.
I still cry because I miss them so. We have 12. These kitties keep adopting me, what can I say?

I have noticed that there are many cat people here. I love both of them. I have a dog now, but we used to have a cat as well.

I always thought that cats would run away. Now I know they won´t if you feed them.

@marguicha Umm I never had an experience with a cat pet normally. Most of my friends or acquaintances have dogs as pets.

I love dogs the best but I know most people here do like cats more. Dogs are so sweet and loyal-which I prefer. =)

I have a cat, but I like both. Cats are easier to take care of, because they are independent.

@katanncooper My daughter´s Claudia´s second cat came to her life because her first cat, Ferguson, ate outside. She came to eat Ferguson´s food and then she stayed. She wasn´t even a stray cat, but nobody ever came for her so Claudia and the children accepted her into their life.

@simone10 Before Luna, there was a cat who walked by my terrace every day. It did not mind my shoos and looked at me with pity. I haven´t seen it since Luna came here as a baby.

@marguicha I don't know how they developed the allergy. My other son, who doesn't live with us, recently got a golden brown cat from RSPCA. The cat is specially loved.
