Referrals

Indeed, there used to be a referral system (it paid a whopping 25% of whatever your referrals earned in discussions). As you can read in the "Earnings Program FAQs", there is no referral system in this version. It wouldn't be appropriate, really, because earnings are calculated in an entirely different way and are based on the interactions you receive from others. Having a referral system would tend to encourage abuse/gaming of the system because it would be to a referral's advantage to respond/comment willy-nilly to their upline's post.

Many people come here thinking they will earn a lot of money, the payments are small and really it is more about enjoying the other members than really making significant amounts of money. Many people leave when they realize that they are likely only to earn $5 a month.

I see you've got your answer from Owlwings - he's an authority on the site. I've only been here about 3 years and the site definitely isn't as busy as when I joined.

Yes! I do believe you are right! That would be an awesome way to bring people back to the site. It was very popular back in the day in 2012! I would love to see a referral system come back to MyLot!

I bet this would help increase traffic. But, MyLot must have determined it was not worth their while. I can't remember what the going rate for a referral was back then, maybe 5-10 percent?

Most of sites have this referral system. I don't check this site for it. Getting active referrals is not a easy job. Believe on yourself.
