Hello everyone. Summer is here in our country. Most of the kids are on vacation now. I do not want my kids just to stay on gadgets throughout the day. I plan to teach or play with them for us all to be physically active also. Last Monday me and my daughter bought badminton rackets and shuttlecocks. We bought four pieces for the four of us. At first, I am hesitating that they will not enjoy it but yesterday we started to play. It was a bit hard for the first time but my two kids somehow seem to enjoy it. I think physical activities should keep them busy rather than sitting down with their gadgets the whole time. What do you think?

My kids are super active as well. They love riding their bikes, playing sports and hide & seek is a favorite around here! =) I love badminton and my kids do too.

@LovingMyBabies Your children will have a much more memorable childhood vs. those sitting in front of a television set or playing video games all day long.

@kareng Yes, we actually don't have any video games in our home and only one TV.

Badminton is excellent game. You don't need special playground for it, no rules, just fun.

I think that is a wonderful idea! When I was a kid we used to play outdoors all day long in the summer. Now kids hardly go outside at all. They would rather sit inside in the air conditioning and watch television or play video games. Kudos to you, @rakshi

that's what we did, too, growing up - just playing in front of the house. then the same with nieces and nephews. on top of what others have said here, you can take the set with you and play anywhere. just have extra shuttlecocks because they can end up in unreachable/irretrievable places.

Being active is important for children. Mine were outside all day and they could be on their gadgets when it gets dark.

That's a very good idea to keep them going instead of sitting all day with their gadgets. It is good for their health. Even walking a bit or they can also enjoy other sports. There are so many summer classes being offered for children.
