Enjoying the Outside

In summer I hear people say how much they love it, and then spend most of their time inside with the A/C because it's too hot to go outside.
In winter I hear people say they hate all the snow and ice because they can't get outside to enjoy the good fresh air.
Seems to me, people are staying inside, no matter what the weather is doing outside. There's always an excuse to remain hidden inside the four walls of our homes.
I'm finding I'm enjoying summer for a change. Maybe because it hasn't been too hot lately, and been on the cool side. All that changes today. We're solidly in the 80s. I know for some of you that's cool weather because you're dealing with the 90s and 100s.
So, what will it be this summer? Will you be outside enjoying the fresh air or inside with your A/C?
Thanks for reading. The picture is mine.

I am outside more than inside, seems all year round. I like the heat and I know you like the cold.

Today it has been 30 C (86 F) here. Many Danes think it is too hot, but I am okay with it. I love the summer months and I spend a lot of time outside when I can. Our winters are very cold, so I want to enjoy the summer months as much as I can.

@just4him Yes, I want to enjoy it while I can. Our fall months and winters months are cold, and it is nice to spend time outside when the sun is shining.

folks're ne'er happy, 've ya noticed? too hot, too cold, too dry, too wet. pleadin' fer the next season to 'rrive so's they can gripe 'bout that'un, lol. fer myself, i do my best to be outdoors's much's possible. the winds're usually what keeps me 'ndoors, not the temp. 'twas a beaut 'f a morn here 'n i spent a good 5 hours outdoors. groomin' ponies, trimmin' grasses, chasin' butterflies, etc. then the winds kicked'p to 'bout 25mph, gustin' 't 45mph. made 't most unpleasant.

@amadeo Yes the heat is blowing up from the Sahara. I remember about two years ago one afternoon London turned red as a sandstorm blown from the Sahara which travelled as far as the UK. We had to use lights in the office as it was terribly dark out side about 2PM. I actually went out ot have a look it was quite spooky!

I agree with those temps. They're awesome. You can do a lot outside when the weather is that agreeable.

Outside for me. I love the fresh air, the blue sky, the green trees, the wild flowers blooming, my flowers blooming, butterflies, and the list goes on.
I agree with you, people are staying indoors more these days.
I love your photo. Where are all of those flowers? Very pretty.

Oh yeah, that sounds like me....staying in because of the heat, and then staying inside because of the cold! I will try to get out some though....we will spend a lot of time outdoors this upcoming week with all the stuff going on here for the 4th of July

@MommyOfEli2013 I should have gone out today. The weather is gorgeous. I think we're having rain tomorrow. I haven't seen the forecast yet today.

I love being outside, but when I grew up we didn't have a choice!

Growing up I was outside all the time, winter and summer. I don't remember spending any time in the house back then. Today, it's rare when I see kids outside enjoying the weather - summer or winter.
It's good you enjoy being outside.

@DocAndersen I imagine you were home for dinner every night. That's about what it was for us too, though we were all home for dinner.

@just4him in the summer, we left the house as soon as the sun was up. We came home around 8 pm for a late dinner.
if we missed dinner we got peanut butter sandwiches and a smile from my mother.

I like to be outside. I work in an office so I have little choice but to spend most of my time indoors whether it is sunny or otherwise. I get annoyed with myself if I haven't been outside when I could have been. My other half does not like the heat but I do. If we get to the beach, I will certainly enjoy being outdoors there.

@just4him We have regular holidays and weekends away. We went away for my partner's birthday weekend so we spent a bit of time outside then. We do have a couple of trips planned. We're going to our favourite place for our honeymoon in October. I've never been away at that time of year before so that's going to be different. I'm sure we'll still get to the beach, even if it's in a thunderstorm :)

A little of both. I remember when growing up, summer lasted forever and winter was brief. How times have changed. Back then, my family had a/c alright...opened windows! LOL Now, at my own place, I guess I am spoiled by a window unit.

That was our A/C growing up too. My parents didn't need to do anything more than open the windows. The house was surrounded by trees so there was always a nice breeze blowing in.
I'm glad you enjoy being outside. I do when the humidity isn't over the top.

Today we got 90, but tomorrow will get more than 95 F... I try to avoid hot temperatures, but sometimes they are unavoidable, this was the case today (fortunately not for long) I love going out and I enjoy being outside, but when it's hot I prefer the mornings and the evenings .
