Daughter just got out of surgery, all went well and we are so very thankful. Not sure how long she'll have to stay..they don't keep you long these days, even when it was two major surgeries. We were surprised it was over in six hours, although she had two surgeons working on her at the same time. We're taking our grandson to his football game in a while, then hope to be able to visit our daughter tomorrow. I truly appreciate all your prayers and good wishes...God is such a merciful and loving Father!

As a mother, I know how much more worried you'd be for her than if the surgery was for yourself. You must be so relieved and grateful that it is over and was a success. That is wonderful news. How's your headache?

Dianne, you are so right...we mothers would rather take the pain any day than our kids. My CT scan was normal, thank God and the headaches are a tiny bit better after a course of Prednisone, but still there.

@1creekgirl So glad your daughter is okay and hope she has a speedy recovery. As for your headaches, thank goodness your CT scan was normal. Do you think you are suffering stress headaches over your daughter?

@DianneN I really don't know. I've been worried about her, so maybe my headaches will get better now?

That's great everything works well for your daughter's surgery. Here it is the same. Sometimes the patients can't stay in the hospital for a long time. Some even have to stay in the aisle since the beds are not enough but there are more patients.

Wow, those are crowded hospitals there! Much less busy in this city (Charleston, SC, USA).

Praise God. I am thankful it went well. I had surgery about 10 years ago and ended up losing a lot of blood and felt really exhausted afterwards. The doctor had to okay it with the insurance to let me stay an extra night in the hospital. I felt way better the next day. I think part of my exhaustion was the long time under anesthesia. There was mention of blood transfusion but it was not needed. I was anemic for a few months but I never noticed it. lol The surgery was great though - it was lapriscopic and ended up being more than they realized but they made the decision during it to keep it lapriscopic rather than an incision and I was very grateful that they did. (incision would have been much faster and less blood loss) But it turned out great and i was happy.
