Transitioning from summer to winter

How many of you have a hard time when summer ends and winter starts? I grew up in Minneapolis and we had very harsh winters that I thought would never end. It seemed like it was mostly winter and some summer. Now, I live in Israel and we do have winter but sometimes they are very mild and do not usually start till about November. This year we are getting rain early. I hate to say goodbye to summer. I wish the rain would wait till November and we could still enjoy nice weather but I guess it has to end sometime.
Do any of you have a hard time also going from summer to winter?

That is nice that you do not have winter. We go from summer to nice days before winter starts and winter for us here in Jerusalem means rain.

The only thing I don't like about winter is the icy conditions. Snow and severe cold I can prepare for, but black ice on the streets and sidewalks are not in my control and I can't always count on city maintenance to properly take care of it. I don't drive so I either walk or take the bus. I still have to walk a fair distance to the bus stop. My biggest worry is slipping on ice and breaking my bones. I have osteoporosis so my bones break easily.

I remember one winter it snowed here in Jerusalem and I use my mobility scooter but since they took their time clearing out trees I could not go the way I wanted. Ice is very hard to not only drive but walk on. I remember icy sidewalks growing up in Minneapolis. I understand how definitely how hard it must be for you to walk when it is icy out.

After next week when the clocks go back it takes about three days to adjust to autumn winter season and then its much more plain sailing.
We badly need rain here at the moment so I am not going to be feeling down if it does rain then much better.
Christmas here can get to be really freaky and quite warm all depends on how things go.

November and January and February can be extremely cold but nothing that you cannot get over.

WE turn our clocks on the 27th of October. So it sounds like you have a decent winter.

I didn't know that Israel has no winter. But I guess it is cold in December.

I did say that we have had snow in Jerusalem. We just do not have it all the time. Winter is our rainy season is what I am saying.

We do have winter. Our winter does not always start till November or December because we have nice weather. I am talking about Jerusalem. In the Golan they have snow. Sorry, if I was not clear in my post.

I hate the cold too. Even though we have a milder winter here in Jerusalem it is still both cold inside and outside and we as tenants have to provide our own heating.

Initially I like the dark nights as it gets dark around half past four here in the winter months. I like to draw the curtains so that it is nice and cosy in the house but after about a month I have had enough and I yearn for spring to come again! Spring is the best time of year for me and once we pass 21st December I know the days will get longer by a minute a day!

I do not like to wake up to dark and go to bed when dark. I like the light and therefore love the spring and summer months.

Yes I do! My favorite season is summer. Love the sunshine, beach, warm weather, shorts and t-shirts. I dislike having to put those shorts and t-shirts away and pull out jackets and jeans

We have only distinct seasons, the dry and rainy season. But when December is approaching we experience cold weather especially early in the morning. We hate that cold weather for we're not used to it.

I don’t mind so much, as long as I’m prepared!

Makes sense but even if prepared I do not like the cold.
