It is time to change clocks again

Here in Israel I hate winter to come but cannot keep it away. On Sunday morning very early in the morning we turn our clocks here for wintertime. We turn them back on Sunday, October 27th from 2 am to 1 am. Is there anyone else here that turns their clocks on that day too?

We do that here as well. I can't say that I like myself. It's way too dark in the morning when I get up and the sun does not come up until I have been at work for some time. I work in the back of the building and there are no windows. So, when the sun does come up I can't even see it.

@Hannihar I work in a warehouse, so there is no sunlight coming in but I do go outside during my break.

@whiteream I do not like the dark either. I love sunny days. Sorry it is dark when you get up and with no windows you cannot see outside when the day starts.

What do you call that. Is that what they call as Daylight Savings Time? We do not have that system in here since we do not have winters and daylight is practically same all throughout the year..

@Hannihar Oh but you have snow o just cool temperatures? WE have basically the same temperature ranges cooler on Oct to Mar then summer on Mar to about June and rainy season from June to Oct....

@rsa101 You are lucky you do not have to worry about changing your clocks there. We have two seasons. Israeli has two seasons: winter (late Oct to mid-Mar), which is cool to cold and when the rains occur, and summer (Apr–Oct), which is warm to hot and virtually rain-free. Winter in Israel starts with showers in October and advances to periodic heavy rainfall from November to March.

@rsa101 I can only talk about the city I live in and that is Jerusalem. We only have rain in the winter. We have had snow but not all the time. January and February and March it gets cold here and also in December too.

@sol_cee I have two watches I have to change and two alarm clocks and another clock I change. So, that makes 5. The computer was set to change itself back and forth. The printer I think was set too but do not need to know the time there.

@sol_cee I have one smartphone and did not bother to change because I do not look at the time there.

We have a lot of clocks in our house. My husband collects them. Luckily, he does all the clock changing.

@Hannihar and I am lazy And he is a perfectionist, so he needs them all perfectly on time. And I might not leave the clock perfectly straight! He might not be a Grumpy Old Man, but he is a Fussy one. I should dust all the clocks since he will be handling them anyway! Saves me trying to get them all straight!

It would be nice if it just stayed the same all year long. Turning back and forth the time seems a bit silly in this day and age.

most of my clocks are automatic, but there are a couple of have to switch. I forgot this year and sat there figuring out how I was already an hour late.

@DocAndersen That is smart to have automatic clocks that turn the way they should be. That happened to me one year that I forgot to turn our clocks and was late.
