Lemon? Or grapefruit?

I was taking a break at work and strolled down the street. There, to my left, was a citrus tree. But were those yellow orbs large lemons or small grapefruits? I could not tell.
I decided to pick one, and I later brought it home. Once home, strictly in the name of science, I poured myself a healthy glass of tequila. Lemon and lime go well with a shot of tequila, but would grapefruit?
So I was really conducting two experiments at once: 1) Was this a lemon or a grapefruit? 2) If it's grapefruit, would it also go well with tequila?
I took a sip of tequila and followed it with the missing wedge in the photo. What I discovered was...
OK, it's not a science experiment if you don't have a hypothesis (do Brits say an hypothesis?) What do you think I found?

@andriaperry Are you saying my experiment was a lemon? I am deeply insulted.

@Tampa_girl7 I hadn't thought of that. We have many different kinds of oranges here in CA, but I don't think I've seen one that light in color.

Going by looks only I would say a lemon. But those citrus trees can be very tricky. We have a tangerine tree in Louisiana that is producing something else now. I am assuming it is a grafted tree. We are waiting for these things to get ripe. Currently green but either lemons or limes.

That it was neither but rather was a small orange. Either way the rind looks very thick, like it is not fully ripened.

It looks like a lemon to me, pony.
What was it?
Edit to add: Okay, so it was a grapefruit... how did it go with your tequila?
