Have you lived a rough life, like me?

As you know, I've lived a pretty rough life. I had to fight to protect my lunch money during my grade school days (South Side of Chicago), and many of my friends succumbed to the allure of hard drugs (I did not). I've seen corruption in several places of work, and...well, I could go on...but I won't. The other night, when I was getting a Bento Box to go from my favorite Japanese sushi place, I noted that one of the pieces of sushi (tuna roll) was BROKEN when I got home. I started singing the blues in my head, and wondered if I should return to the sushi place and demand a "whole" tuna roll. But I was hungry, so I ate it instead. As I was eating, sipping wine, and singin' the blues, a certain blues song came into my head. I may have posted it here before. Have you had it rough life, like me? Was childhood tough? Have you ever had a tube in your $3,000 power amplifier go bad? Have you had a flat tire on your Porsche? Have you ever had broken sushi? Let's sing the blues together! I'll attach the song I started singing. Life is tough, and sometimes you just have to sing about it. Tell me your saddest stories. I'm a good listener.
A real funny parody of the song "Everyday I have the blues. I do not own the music or the photos used in this video. No copyright infringement intended. I do...

The depression must have been rough. The Bush II recession was difficult, but it didn't affect my standard of living.

@andriaperry My Grandma told me stories. She provided soup for neighbors who weren't as lucky as she was.

@TheHorse Yeah. I ordered a junior bacon cheeseburger with just tomato and lettuce on it, but when I bit into it, I noticed there was Miracle Whip on it. I ate it anyway.

Yes, well, as the child of two academics in one of the richest countries in the world, life was tough. Some times we got pizza with paprika, and neither my brother nor I liked that. So you can imagine what scars this left.

@TheHorse And some times in the winter it was so cold that people would tell me it was too cold to eat ice-cream. Not that I ever listened to them, but still!

@JudyEv Yeppers, that's why I really enjoy working with very young children from disadvantaged backgrounds. I become a "parent figure" to them, and what they learn from me will stick with them for life.

@JudyEv Yes, I did seek out good mentors along the way. When went to graduate school at UCSB (Santa Barbara), I actually had an "academic dad" and an "academic mom." I became very attached to them.

Not as bad as this guy singing, LOL. If it was only as bad as his. I will say we all have had our share, but I can always find someone worst off than I am, so I refuse to sing the blues.
