As store shelves lie empty due to Coronavirus, I've seen pictures of people stockpiling some of the weirdest things! I've seen people with hideous amounts of toilet roll - I mean what do people plan to do with all that toilet roll?! Then there are those who have been stocking up on guns Earlier, I also read about the Dutch forming long queues to stock up on pot/weed. What are some of the interesting things you've seen or heard people are stockpiling? Meantime, let's all keep safe, look after each other and pray Coronavirus will become a thing of the past SOON

I think this is due to too much watching of apocalyptic movies

We never know...but I expect rains will solve the issue for the world. Till then, survival should be the motto.

@vandana7 I just have to laugh it out because it is making my depression and anxiety worse. But I totally agree with you. I have hoarded on all sorts of things. And I have lost a lot of sleep.

@yoalldudes I am more pragmatic. If I win over it, I feel like a King...victor.

I know! I said very early on I just couldn't wrap my head around people stockpiling toilet paper. It's very strange and is happening all over the world. Some doctors are also baffled by it. Bizarre.

@nela13 Lord, in this awful time, it would be truly sad. At least in my country, the government has instructed the water company to stop disconnecting those in arrears while all this is going on. By the way, even here, stores have run out of toilet paper!

Toilet paper and paper towels have been two of the items in the U.S. Bleach, hand sanitizer and cleaning products are all expected. Some are hoarding food.

It's such a shame that some people are having to throw away food that spoiled before they could use it while there are many around the world starving :(

That's a good question! Well, hand sanitizer is right at the top of the list. Also snack foods like chips are hard to come by. Our store was out of shredded mozzarella, certain brands of ice cream, napkins, half and half and eggs. Some stores are better stocked than others.

Hand sanitiser should be right at the top of the list, I agree! I now regret not getting good snacks because I'm running out supplies but would really not like to step out.

@dgobucks226 That's fantastic to hear! We went to restock a few days ago. We got most of our usual stuff, but couldn't find some like cream :(

God knows. I just know when people can't find toilet paper they go find something else to hoard. I have stayed away from the madness. I don't want any part of it. Before you know it people will start tossing other people's kids into their shopping carts just in case they feel like they may need to perpetuate the species!

The toilet paper thing is still going on here, but what we're seeing now is people grabbing Vitamin C and Vitamin D supplements.

I still don't get the toilet paper thing. But today we went out for more supplies and stocked up on Vitamin C and various cold and flu meds including Advil just in case we need it.

actually most of Florida here is used to the stock piling ever hurricane season we see it. People stoking up in case they can't go out in the terrible winds with trees falling down and floods all over

You are wise. Whatever we hoard it will not last forever. And there has to be a way to buy the essencials everywhere.

Thanks so much :) I agree - we have to shop smart. I've seen on the news people hoarding perishables, only for the supplies to go bad before they could use them. What a waste :(

It's very confusing because while people busy stockpiling because they are scared, many still continue to flout precautionary social distancing measures, putting themselves and those around them at risk

That's exactly my point! Sanitizers, water and non-perishable food are really the main things you'd want to stockpile
